The Wild Hunt is a Wild Ride,

This review is from: The Tarot Cafe Novel Volume 1: The Wild Hunt (Paperback)
Wonderfully literate with evocative lyrical prose. Chandra Rooney makes you feel as if you've just stepped into another world, one shrouded in a mystical cloak, inhabited by characters you'd love to meet. I adored Bryn and Pamela - both strong women with very distinct personalities whose peculiar powers wreak havoc with their private lives. Although I would not necessarily have done what Bryn did were I in her shoes, the choices she makes are tough ones, based on a truly selfless love.I loved how the Tarot cards were deftly woven into the story - as well as Rooney's succinct explanations of each of them. I never felt like the dialogue was too expository; it all felt very natural. I recommend this book to those who enjoy reading urban fantasy authors like Melissa Marr and Richelle Mead. You do not need to have read any of the manga that preceded this novel in order to understand it.

I don't know anything about the world this book was written in, but I really enjoyed it. I was skeptical, a little at first. Confused as to what was going on, but as I kept reading I found I didn't want to stop. I stayed up all night to finish this book. I hope they - Tokyo Pop - decide to do more and I hope they stick with this author if they do them.
