Absolutely THE Best Tarot Book Out There!!!,
By A. Moore (IN United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tarot Made Easy (Paperback)
I became interested in the tarot years ago and bought several books on the subject. I found the majority of them to be very difficult to use and too open for interpretation. Then I bought this absolutely fabulous book and the world of the tarot finally made sense to me. I have owned and used this book for about ten years. What makes this book different is that each card has a SPECIFIC printed meaning for each category that your spread position or question might suggest. If you ask a question about your job for instance, and you pull the Major Arcana card, The Magician, you will get a very specific response... "Expect a new beginning and a fresh start. A new partnership could also be in the making." Other tarot books would have some vague interpretation that may make no sense at all in relation to work. Who needs that!!! This book makes, (as the title says) tarot easy! Not only have I used my (by now, well worn) copy for years to do my own personal readings... I have also used the book to do readings for numerous friends and relatives. Every Christmas Eve at my family's gathering, it has become a TRADITION for me to bring over my cards and this book and do a 32 card category spread for each of my relatives in regards to the coming year! They all absolutely love it! "Tarot Made Easy" should be named "Tarot Made Easy and FUN"! Before she moved away, a friend of mine used to come over to my home at the start of each month to do a category reading for the coming month. Since I had a copy machine at home, we used to actually copy the appropriate text, cut and paste it all together on a few pages and then review it at the end of the month to see how much had come true. It was often really amazing! Most significant though, were the times that the tarot made a prediction that at the time seemed impossible... but then actually occured. Since she has moved away, I still do smaller readings for her using the book by e-mail. Even long distance, the interpretations seem to make sense! My only wish is that this book was also available as a computer program! Imagine being able to input the cards you have drawn, select a catagory and print out a reading! Oh well... I guess I can't have everything... and... this book is so close to perfection that I certainly can't complain! "Tarot Made Easy" by Nancy Garen is absolutely THE best tarot book out there... I would recommend it to anyone who ever wanted to try the tarot!

AWESOME BOOK!,
This review is from: Tarot Made Easy (Paperback)
This is a must have book for beginning and advance tarot students. This book explains each card on the basis of 32 categories such as romance, health, family, finances, friends, career, etc. This book can be easily used as a cheat sheet to give 99% of correct readings by any tarot student. This book can also explain how to answer when questions. Each card can tell when the event is gonna happen. It can be any of the four seasons, something after few months or something on a specific month. PLEASE DO NOT MEMORIZE THE 32 CATEGORIES OF THE BOOK. Just read the book and use it as your guide when you are reading someone. Also, use your own intutions. The books can only guide you, but you have to make a final decession on a specific thing. Don't waste your time in searching for the books. Buy this book and I guarantee you that you will be satisfied.

THE BEST TAROT BOOK EVER, EVER, EVER.,

Do your own accurate tarot readings with this book. Other reviewers are right, you do have to depend on this book for the "answer." But that's why Nancy Garen has her other book, The Tarot according to you, A Workbook," which I'm buying next. But this book...well I was doing a reading using the X-Lover spread which I found in the book Power Tarot by Trish Macgregor and using the card interpretations from this book. I was asking the question if my exboyfriend and I would get back together and every card was coming up negative so under my breath I said to myself, "this is like resurrecting the dead" as I realized the possibilities weren't likely. Well my NEXT card was the 10 of Wands and under the category "UNION" I read the interpretation and it read as follows: "You will hope for a resurrection in your relationship, but will feel as if you are trying to raise the dead." WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF THAT!!! I WAS BLOWN AWAY. How can it read my mind? I love this book. My goal is to be able to read the cards this accurately and I will work with "The Tarot according to You" but in the meanwhile, it doesn't get any better than this. Buy this book today!

This book takes the guesswork out of doing readings!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Tarot Made Easy (Paperback)
Having been a professional tarot card reader since 1987, I can honestly say that thanks to Nancy Garen's book my readings are 99.9 % accurate. Not only for my clients, but for myself. With over 30 descriptive categories per card ranging from success and finances to health, marriage, family and home, getting specific answers has become eerily uncanny. If you intend to buy a tarot book, do yourself a favor and purchase this one!

Excellent Book!,

This review is from: Tarot Made Easy (Paperback)
This is a great book for beginners, or anyone who has had trouble figuring out their tarot readings in the past. It breaks down each and every card with several catagories. For example, for each card you will get a description of what it would mean pertaining to a reading about say for example, love, union, job, home, health, etc. It also explains many things about the tarot, such as how major arcarna cards mean that part of the reading is very important. Also it explains what it means if your reading comes up with many sword cards in it, or many wand cards, etc., or many two's, or five's, etc. (when that happens, don't you always wonder - "hey, what a coincidence!" - Well - this book tells you what it means). It also describes the personalities of the court cards, so if you have the queen of swords or knight of pentacles, it might be about a certain person with certain qualities, or even a certain birthdate. It also helps you to figure out what seasons the cards' predictions might be talking about. Also - do you ever have a card pop out at you while you are shuffling? This book explains that if that happens, read that card (you sometimes don't even have to go any further). I always get great info when a card or two pops out at me. But I then still do my full regular reading too. Also - this book talks about pulling a clarifcation card - when you seem a bit puzzled or still have something unanswered. **It's a very thorough book!** I love it, and find it extremely helpful. When I used this book with my Rider Waite deck, I was able to read that by autumn I would be either engaged or living with my then boyfriend (It was winter when I did the reading). And that September, we moved in togther and got engaged. When I use my Rider Waite deck, or my Morgan Greer deck, and this book, and my intuition, my readings are always so accurate. (Before I look up any info in the book, I always look over my whole spread first and take my own inner voice's interpretations first and foremost. But the book then helps verify info, or fill in the missing areas where I am not getting anything myself). I light a candle first and hold the cards in my hands. Then go into alpha (calm, meditative brain waves), and start feeling an energy buzz with the cards in my hands. Then I start focusing on my question for the spread. Then I shuffle the cards, and cut the deck into threes with my left hand, and then stack them back up. Then I either spread out the cards like a fan and pick each one as my hand seems to be guided (which is my favorite way to do it). Or after stacking the cut deck, I then take the desired amount of cards right off the top of the deck.

I love this book but 1 tiny little thing that people seem to forget...,
By bacardistuff "bacardistuff" (Dayton, Ohio) - See all my reviews

is that sometimes the card definitions that Ms. Garen writes contradicts each other which makes it confusing when doing a reading. For example, let's take The Seven of Pentacles. Under the Romance category, it says "You will be disappointed in love and will unhappily resign yourself to the prospect of continuing on alone. The Fortune category states "You will be fortunate in romantic affairs that take a sudden turn for the better." Huh? Here's another one. The Death card's Finances category states that "You will be worried about your finances because of a sudden loss or severance of income." The Fortune category states "You will have luck in a new business enterprise, and income thought lost will be retrieved, revived, or reinstated." I could go on but you get the idea.

I HAVE STUDIED THE TAROT FOR OVER 5 YEARS NOW AND THIS GUIDE IS BY FAR THE BEST I HAVE SEEN. IT EXPLAINS EVERY CARD BY THE SUBJECT MATTER OR QUESTION AT HAND. FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOU ARE DOING A READING ON ROMANCE - YOU CAN FOCUS ON JUST THAT. IT ALSO SHOWS VARIOUS CARD LAYOUTS AND EVEN EXPLAINS CARD ASTROLOGY. I LOVE IT. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TAROT - BUY THIS BOOK!

Easiest Tarot Book Ever,
By VickiVeil "vickiveil" (Cincinnati, Ohio United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tarot Made Easy (Paperback)
I have participated in classes, bought a ga-zillion decks of traditional tarot cards, have an actual VHS video tape all on TAROT... Never been able to read the cards. I am a professional psychic, and have used specialty cards. But have always wanted to learn tarot in addition to just using my natural senses. After 4 years of searching, I found this book. TAROT MADE EASY has EVERYTHING one would need to learn to read tarot, apply the meanings to different questions, and different spreads to use as well. This book is remarkable. You know when someone ask WHAT DO YOU SEE IN MY JOB? And you pull the lovers card, you wonder how the heck am I going to apply the lovers card to this question? Well Nancy has taken each and every card and broke it into every category possible. ROMANCE PHYSICAL BODY for health type questions DESIRE UNIONS which would cover say a client ask about joining hands with someone else in their business. This book is well done. Trust me, I have spent some $$$ on materials and classes. Something that even I found a bit eerie when I was first using the book! LOL I was doing a reading for a colleague. She asked a question about her marriage. So I said you know let me use this book and just kinf of open it where I feel it should. I "shuffled" the pages of the book you might say. I just kind of fanned the pages with my thumb a few times, letting my energy get into the book, as I did this, I thought of the question. When I FELT the need to stop, I did.

review of nancy garen's "tarot made easy",
By candace h (california) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tarot Made Easy (Paperback)
this is the ONLY tarot book i use any more. and i usually just simplify my reading by pulling one card after asking for Guidance. the reading for each card is divided into several sections ("health, finances, relationship, guidance", etc) and the information is related from a (metaphysically) spiritual perspective. usually very helpful guidance when i most need it. she also has clear information about the different layouts, and the general picture of tarot. the best of tarot in my opinion.

Nancy Garen's book, "Tarot Made Easy" is a book I have used for over 8 years now. It has provided me with high quality accurate readings and is especially helpful when doing three card readings for a specific question. I had bought other books before this one but none go into the detail that this book does...she has over thirty categories for each card that allow for very specific readings.
