Book Description

January 15, 2011
Open the gates to the Celtic Otherworld with this inspiring new Tarot vivid and powerful, 78-card deck painted through direct inspiration from the Sidhe, (pronounced Shee), the ancient Gaelic name for the Faery race. The Sidhe take us beyond popular images of flower fairies, to a deeply magickal and spiritual set of images that take Tarot reading to a deeper level and may be used for meditation, magick, and more. Connecting with the Sidhe at this time may help you reconnect with inner powers of the primal Earth and bring healing to the land around you. The cards use original, non-derivatory symbolism and potent imagery within traditional Tarot structure. This Faery deck is born from shamanic techniques and can help you build a stronger connection with their realm. If you wish to strengthen your intuition and perception of the Otherworld, then this is the deck for you. Descriptions, meanings, and keywords are explored. There are also channeled oracle messages received from the beings on the cards.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Treasure January 19, 2011
Format:Cards|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've been enamoured of this deck since well before it was published -- I'd study the images on Aeclectic Tarot and wonder what it would be like to actually have the deck in person. They are wonderful --Schiffer (the publisher) did a great job for Emily. They're really big I should say, which is one way they might be good for meditation, as there is more area for the image. The Great Glyph (from John Matthews book _The Sidhe: Wisdom from the Celtic Otherworld) luminously graces the backs of the cards. Now, I am just beginning to sense/feel/understand this deck, having only received it yesterday. Though I have been into Tarot for about 25 years, I've been travelling the faery path for even longer, so I can say straight up that I hold this deck in great reverence, probably more for the fae communication side of it than the tarot side. This is truly a powerful deck, and there is no doubt that Emily was really connected as she did this deck. The reviewer who suggested going slowly with this deck really has a feel for it -- that was my feeling too, immediately. I sensed at once that I could become overwhelmed. As to another reviewer who felt that it wasn't a deck she could read with, it may be -- there are hundreds of decks out there that I just can't imagine reading with, but for me, I get the feeling this won't be one of them. BUT having said that, I realized as soon as I had them in my hands that this deck was made up of many layers. Also, it is intimately, not superficially, connected to the fae or sidhe folk, and for that reason, I'd be wanting to only read with it for others on the path of the faery faith, or use it just for myself. I have other decks that work wonderfully for general readings. This deck has many things to impart to me. I can't wait to begin furthering the relationship!

5.0 out of 5 stars Deeply connected to Earth and Spirit January 26, 2011
Format:Cards|Amazon Verified Purchase
I decided to write a review because this is one of the best decks I had bought in many years. First, the creation of the art was a natural process not an imposed one. The artist opened herself to the call of art, images flow spontaneously from her heart and her hands obeyed... The colors are strong, almost primary, but they moved the whole of me when I looked at them, they convey a message on their own as if they have a personality. The archetypes spring out of the cards with a unique earthly and warm presence, like if they were part of me. I have a sensation when looking at the cards, like if I had met them before in a dream...

The artist invest the deck with a fresh approach to tarot structure. The suits are reordered in a way that add significance and make sense with the cohesive structure of the deck. If you are a tarot scholar or if you are an experienced reader you will savor the essence of the Sidhe. But if you are a new reader you can read with them too, if you let the cards speak to you, not you imposse other books meanings to the cards. You have to let the unique presence of the Sidhe speak to you. If you are a creative person, sensitive to nature and other realities you will find the deck a precious token with so many uses as your imagination dictate...

The book is another work of art. Full of fine prose, poetry, spreads and even songs. Love the deck!
The cards are more big than usual, strong carton, very manageable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing !!! January 19, 2011
Format:Cards|Amazon Verified Purchase
I obviously have not had the deck very long but I must say it's wonderful. I waited a really long time for the release and I know now it was worth the wait. I have a special connection with the Sidhe, mainly due to reading John Matthews's book "The Sidhe". It helped me make a truely spiritual connection, like no other, through the meditations and other guided learnings.
Anyway purchase this deck if you truely want magick in your life and The Sidhe to guide and teach you.
Thanks Amazon for getting the deck to me so quickly , or was it The Sidhe ?? We'll never know for sure....
