This deck and the accompanying book are the most profound I have found. I had given up on tarot because the most commonly used decks and books are so materially oriented, mostly interested in money, health, and romance. This deck and book set, however, is both intelligent and spiritually wise. I was a scientist before I retired to explore art and spirituality, and it is a rare book that does not seem naive in one or more of these dimension. Thank you, Pamela and Joyce.

I've had this deck for about 5 years now, and still really enjoy using them. The cards are beautifully illustrated and leave a lot of room for your own interpretation and spiritual insight. The images I find are mystical and abstract, some more defined looking in their design than others, but they contain subtle messages that don't over-power you in a reading. If you want to really use your tarot cards as a medium and a channel for your intuitive voice, these are perfect for that because as a deck they are not rigid in their design and meaning; each card has an 'open' feel, and you can easily get different meanings from the same card during different readings. To me, thats what I wanted. I didn't want a deck that would 'spell' it out for me, I wanted a deck that would give me the tools for my own perspective and instincts to evolve, and it does just that. If this is your first time buying a deck- Learning what the 4 elements of this deck- air, earth, fire and water- on a basic level represent is an important consideration, and knowing what your major arcana represent is crucial too. But other than that, put the guide book away and liston to your intuition because its the only way you'll learn how to trust yourself. Goodluck!

Great colors, interesting knowledge... great as a gift to those who collect or ahve an interest in the tarot.

I used Tarot of the Spirit when I was in high school and have found nothing like it. It is authentic and encouraging. Death does not mean literal death, but is more of a transformation in one's life. These cards encourage use of ones intuition and bring out many other hidden qualities of the self.
I highly recommend them for a novice tarot reader as well as anyone who is interested in introspection. I use them whenever I need to gain some clarity or acceptance in my decisions.
Plus, they're beautiful and fun to use!

I might have gotten a little ahead of myself when purchasing the Tarot of the Spirit. I find it very hard to read any symbolism in them. They have beautiful color but then as you get into each individual card you look for the things that will help you interpret these cards and for me it's not there. Then you get into the Minor Arcana and you have wind, fire, water and earth and that throws me off. My recommendation for this deck would be that a more experienced user may benefit from using these cards.

Tarot of the Spirt is exceptional as far as Qabalistic tarot decks go. We cannot recommend it highly enough. If you are dedicated to Tarot with a Qabalistic orientation, this classic deck is the best deck that has ever been produced. Tarot of the Spirit has received the highest acclaim from the Western Mystery Schools and exceptional reviews from Rachael Pollack, Brian Swimme, Angeles Arrien, James Wanless, Mary Greer, and Gareth Knight, all of whom confirm it is without equal.

I have had this deck for several years, and it does take an interesting approach. The problem I have with this deck is that it just has an uncomfortableness about it. I always feel unpleasant after doing a reading, and some of the imagery is disturbing somehow. I cannot use this deck to do readings for others because more than one friend has drawn away from the deck and said that it made them uncomfortable. I suppose that you just have to be aligned a certain way for this one.
