3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the Beginning Beginner
This book was mildly intertaining, but focused a bit more than I'd like on numerology and "games" rather than the cards... It gave several good beginning spreads, but seemed to lean toward entertainment value more than education, or mysticism. A good book for the youngest Tarot beginners, though, as it kept things on a very light level.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Modern Look at the Tarot, May 4, 2000
This review is from: Tarot in Ten Minutes: A Clear and Direct Step-by-Step Method to Unlock the Secrets of the Tarot! (Paperback)
As the Tarot Host at BellaOnline.com, I come across an abundant amount of information regarding the Tarot.

This book has been in my collection for a number of years, and it rarely makes its way back onto the bookshelf!

Great for beginners and experienced Tarot readers alike, it provides numerous examples to explore the Tarot and apply it to specific queries about one's life situations, in modern, clearly presented terms, by interpreting the traditional properties of the Tarot and applying them to ideas embedded in lifestyles of today.

I would certainly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in learning how to read and incorporate the Tarot into his/her interests.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tarot in 10 Minutes - A Day, October 23, 2005

Alright - so it's not truly Tarot in ten minutes. But, if you're willing to devote just ten minutes a day for about three months, you'll come away with a much deeper understanding of Tarot.

There are a total of 29 exercises in this book - that's about a month altogether - and I'd recommend going thru it more than once.

The first time, go thru it for yourself. You will find out a lot about the surface meanings of Tarot in the first run thru these exercises.

The second time, go thru it for others. You will find out quite a bit on how to do readings for others with these exercises.

The third time, go thru it for yourself again, but this time looking for the deeper meanings of the images.

Kaser uses imagery from the standard Rider-Waite deck of tarot cards - although these pictures would have benefited greatly from being in color, they're all right as black & white sketches.

The quick reference guide at the end serves as the 30th "lesson". There are a couple of Tarot card layouts, and a nice master index section for reading to understand the meaning of the cards in four different situations - work, love, money, and strategy.

There's also a strange index in the back that you will find refers you to the proper lesson for dealing with questions that you can find the answer to thru Tarot cards.

All in all, a worthwhile reference for those starting out with Tarot cards.

5.0 out of 5 stars Valuable! Underrated Tarot Guide More Useful Than Most, January 13, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Tarot in Ten Minutes: A Clear and Direct Step-by-Step Method to Unlock the Secrets of the Tarot! (Paperback)
I used this as my only tarot guide as I worked on a 1-900 psychic line. Over 5000 readings later I can vouch for the accuracy of the spreads, especially the lover's Celtic Cross spread. Except for answers to yes/no questions (which I have yet to find any way to consistently accurately do)the spreads in this book worked for my callers. Much better than supposedly more "serious" tarot books. Much better than Kaser's book on runes. As good as this book is, I prefer Chita St. Lawrence's "It's All In The Cards" which deals with playing card readings. But, for tarot this is THE book to buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, easily understood, hands on!, November 16, 2003
This review is from: Tarot in Ten Minutes: A Clear and Direct Step-by-Step Method to Unlock the Secrets of the Tarot! (Paperback)
This is a VERY fun book, and litterally, you start reading the tarot and asking questions about your life in ten minutes. Great as a workbook when newly introduced to the tarot, and experienced alike. The book uses the traditional Waite tarot, but it is usable with any deck, as I use the Witches Tarot. Some of the cards are different, but the book is still very easily understood.
Tarot in Ten Minutes explains many different spreads, and you don't just read about them, you use them as soon as you are introduced to each one. How very fun!
Again, a great book for an introduction to the tarot, but would reccommend reading more than just this book, because tarot is all about intuition, which this books mentions nothing about. Once a card starts saying something other than what the books say to you, it's time to throw out the books(not litterally of course)!

5.0 out of 5 stars right to the point and very helpful, July 30, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Tarot in Ten Minutes: A Clear and Direct Step-by-Step Method to Unlock the Secrets of the Tarot! (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book. Unlike many others its easy to read and helpful to first timers and experienced tarot card readers alike. It gets right to the point and it really works. The best part is you can put it to use the same day. I've done many readings for my friends and they were all very pleased and two years later they still call me to read them the tarot cards using this book because it is the most accurrate readings they've had so far. I highly recommend this book esp. if you want a straight forward answer for a specfic question thats extremly accurrate and to the point. BUT IF YOU DON'T BELEIVE ME, READ IT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. IT WILL DEFF.BE WORTH YOUR TIME, MY FRIENDS AND I ALL AGREE THIS A DEF. MUST HAVE.:-)

I used this book when I first started reading tarot cards. Many years later I picked it up again. I think R.T. Kaser hits the nail on the head more often then readers give him credit for. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars A favorable review of a tarot handbook, April 28, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Tarot in Ten Minutes: A Clear and Direct Step-by-Step Method to Unlock the Secrets of the Tarot! (Paperback)
This book, while no substitute for an in-depth Tarot manual, is invaluable for the novice. Following the instructions in the book, you can ask/answer specific questions as a way to loosen up and get comfortable with the cards.... A personal note: I ran a series of different spreads the night I was trying to decide whether or not to propose to a gentleman I had been dating--eight different spreads all pointed to yes. So I asked him. We celebrated our first anniversary a few months ago.

I highly recommend this book for anyone beginning or even already knows the tarot. I've read many tarot books and have been reading tarot for 18 years and this book is one of the best. In the back are descriptions and they are awesome! I love this book.
