This book is a great introduction to the tarot. The Hanson-Roberts deck used to illustrate the book is very straightforward in its symbolism. I would have liked some more information on spreads, but all in all, this is a really good book.

I have an extensive tarot library, and this is simply one of the best books for beginning readers that I have ever seen. It is very uncomplicated in it's approach to a topic that is often buried in rhetoric and philosophy. It is set up very well for reference and it is illustrated with a beautiful tarot deck.

This book is written to go with the Hanson-Roberts Tarot Cards. Clarson's explanation of what Tarot is, and how it works makes it useful for beginners. I found the card illustrations to be quite useful, and her suggested interpretations to be comprehensible.
