A charming deck, based closely upon the imagery of the Waite deck, and hence, very useable as a reading deck. The cat images are captivating in their colors, detail and integrity of execution, giving this deck not only better than average aesthetics, but also a very friendly and accessible feeling. A good deck to use if you want to win over someone who thinks of the tarot as threatening or evil. I've only had mine a day, and it is already one of my favorites!

If you love cats (or even if you just like cats) but want to stay with a "standard deck" these are the cards for you! Beautifully illustrated and fashioned after the Raider-Waite Tarot (except that all the people are cats), these cards are fun and easy to read!

A few of the cards have slight variations from the Raider-Waite Tarot ... for example, the 10 of Swords shows the picture of the Swords piercing through a sheet or blanket that is lying on the ground, but the cat has escaped ... perhaps not however, before first using one of his nine lives!? It kind of gives a slightly different feel than the "standard" meaning.

A cat has been added in the Ace cards. How fun! In the Ace of Coins card for instance, the cat is pouncing on the coin which to me, not only gives the meaning of a potentially good opportunity involving money but also that the opportunity should be pounced on! (I love it!) And in the Ace of Rods the cat is "digging his claws" into the staff (or rod). You can work that one out for yourself. At any rate, the variations are wonderful and give additional meaning to the cards.

The backs of the cards are also beautiful showing a blue background bordered with an ornate golden frame. A white cat sits in each of two golden chalices that are stem to stem on the card. Beautiful!

I would definitely recommend this deck to anyone and especially to cat lovers!

If you are looking for a beautifully designed and colorful deck, this one's for you. You ARE a cat lover, too, obviously!
Unlike with some other decks, both the major and minor arcana depict scenes. They are very detailed so you may want to go with your own feelings to interpret your drawing, as the accompanying booklet is very limited. The interpretations given for each card sound more like fortune cookies than anything! For interpretation, I recommend using a documented book along, such as that by Laura Tuan (unfortunately apparently not translated in English) that gives the general meaning of each card, and an interpretation in various fields (love, business, person, money...) as well as reverse meanings. I still give this deck 5 stars for its beauty.

When I decided to learn about tarot cards, I did some investigating before hand. I also knew I wanted artwork that would inspire me. It was suggested to me to buy the Rider-Waite version because it was the most common and easiest to understand. I'm a cat lover and the Rider-Waite version, Tarot of White Cats, had some beautiful artwork. Upon receiving the cards in the mail, I was not disappointed! Even though my daughter found the workings of the tarot cards to be easier than myself, I'm still very happy with my decision to buy Tarot of White Cats based on my love of the artwork!

These cards are, without doubt, splendid! The illustrations are just divine. i had seen them elsewhere, but the price was just too right here on Amazon! i have not used them yet for a "reading", but i have a great many "cat people" waiting for the right moment- as many of you know, these things cannot be forced and my kinship with the catfolk is such that i will know when the time is right for each person. One of my many "assistants" is a snow white angora and i had the pleasure of his company when viewing the cards for the first time-he gave a "four paws up"!
2009...i have since used these cards for "reading" young people-they are splendid! Reading pre teens and teens is "difficult"-these were perfect! (i 'worked" a TWILIGHT book release where i work, and these cards were just EXCELLANT!)

Delightful artwork based on the Rider-Waite deck, so it's very easy to read. The art is colorful but not overly cutsy. I love cats and I love this deck! This is my second from this publisher and both decks are high quality.

I absolutely love this deck. In fact, I also have this deck in the mini as a travel deck.

I've been using this deck now for well over a year, and it has become my primary reading deck. In fact, this is the only deck I use now. I have tiny hands, so I trimmed the border off the standard sized cards and now the cards fit perfectly!

The deck follows the visual symbolism of the Rider-Waite decks. However, there are a few differences- 10 of Swords, Strength and Death come to mind. This may irk some readers already used to the symbolism on the Rider-Waite decks. I actually really enjoy the more humorous twist on the 10 of Swords and Strength in this deck, while I find their take on the Death card to be apropos and absolutely gorgeous.

Obviously, this deck is a shoe-in if you're a cat lover. I don't believe this is strictly a beginner's deck- I believe both new and experienced readers can enjoy this deck and get full use out of it. One of the qualities I adore about this set is that the facial expression of the cats in each card are so expressive and exuberant- while I've always found the facial expressions on the Rider Waite cards to be bland and poker-faced. Some prefer the subtle expressions on the RW decks, but I personally adore the vivacious expressions on many of the cards.

The card stock is very high quality. Print quality and color = excellent. The artwork is gorgeous, top-notch, with a very vibrant fairytale feel. I've used this deck for well over a year, and it's held up well to rigorous use.

I also recommend the Tarot of the Baroque Bohemian Cats for those interested in decks with feline themes.

I love these cards they are a spin off of the "Rider Deck" but with the charming white cat picture's they are fun and friendly, check out the "fool" card I'm sure you love them if your a cat lover too! MEOW!

I love tarot and I love cats. I did not know that Tarot of White Cats existed and I was very happy to find out I could get it at Amazon.com

That tarot respects the one I am used to which is Tarot of Marseille in that it carries the same or almost the same definitions that I am used to. I do not have any regrets and I might order it again as a gift for a friend because many of my friends are tarot and cat lovers as well.

the symbolism is correct. and the art work is delightful. but there's something odd about asking a cat a question. ;)

i got this deck mainly because i collect cat paraphenalia.
