5.0 out of 5 stars Used it for years- and I trust it, December 5, 2008

This review is from: Tarot (CD-ROM)
I have lost track of how many years that I have had this tarot program, but this is the third computer that I have loaded it on. I originally ran it under Windows 95 (it is rated for both 95 and 3.1) but I have also ran it without problems on Millenium and XP.

When I originally bought it I had doubts about computer generated spreads. I wondered if my results would be comparable with my conventional deck. Well, after years of comparisons I am satisfied that the results are of equal reliability. Apparently, the hidden currents that move the old decks can also move the "random" generators of this program- or maybe it is always a matter of the operator's gifts...

You have a choice of three styles of deck here (Rider, Cosmic, and Experimental) but I always use the familiar Rider. The images are faithful to the Waite-Rider but a little "flat" and textureless- I think that this is to accomadate the older graphics capabilities of 386 systems.

The interpretations are also faithful, if a bit brief, but there is enough their to jog your memory. You can choose whether or not to include reversed cards in your reading- and the percentage. As for spreads, there are a dozen ranging from three card to celtic cross. You also have the option of free positioning for your own personal spreads.

One big advantage to this program is that you can save spreads with notes and dates- or print out a hard copy.
