My children love these books. My 10 year old son read them, and my 8 year old daughter will listen to them and now my 6 year old son is working his way through them. That is unusual, the series' vocabulary is above a kindergarden-1st grade level, but he has always been my best reader.

The simple illustrations are pretty good and the monsters are so unusual that my children have not been scared to continue to sleep in their own rooms, thankfully. My son is looking forward to the Dark Realm books, so we'll see if the series can continue to keep his interest.

I purchased this book for my grandsons ages 8&9. They both read the book and said they enjoyed it very much. They are looking forward to reading more of the books in the series.

My nephew is 8 and loved the first couple books so much instead of toy for Christmas all he wanted was this book collection. Then the collection is so great now my son who is 6 wants the collection too.

My son really enjoys this series and wanted to get all the books in the series - which we did through Amazon.

Great! My grand daughters really enjoy bed time stories and this series is exciting, yet age appropriate. It has a good story base and lessons on sticking with it because the long term gain is more important than the short term gains.

Easy reading. Good fantasy and short. My son wasn't a big reader, but this was interesting and short enough to get him started.

My son started reading this set at age 8, and more books are still being released.
