You've gotta love Tarzan Boy!, June 7, 2000
This review is from: Tarzan Boy / Die Hard Lover (Audio CD)
I bought this CD just so that I would have a good copy of "Tarzan Boy". Anyone who was alive during the 80's should remember it, or at least the "Listerine" commercial that used it as it's soundtrack. Best listened to while driving down the highway with the sunroof open, the song was popular for it's fast beat (which made it a good dance tune), and for it's unique jungle premise. This CD gives you the song at it's best, in clear, digital sound. Before purchasing this CD, I had never heard of the other single on the album, "Die Hard Lover" by Cowley/Imperial. In my opinion, it's not bad, but just doesn't stand out, making it interchangeable with a lot of other 80's music. I still give this CD 5 stars because, in my mind, just having "Tarzan Boy" made it worth it. And I listen to it often.

Got to love Tarzan Boy!, January 28, 2003
This review is from: Tarzan Boy / Die Hard Lover (Audio CD)
My FIVE stars go simply for Tarzan Boy! Die Hard Lover just doesn't do for me what Tarzan Boy does. Previous reviewer is right - sunroof open, stereo LOUD! How could you not like this song? Some may think that 80's music was the stepchild of generations before and not nearly as cool as the 90's - BUT let's not forget EVOLUTION and that the music of TODAY wouldn't be here unless generations before paved the way... AND if you were AT ALL an 80's fan, Baltimora captured the spirit with this one! And, as a fan, I have to say, I was somewhat angered with Listerine for bastardizing the song. Many other bands, too, have been "bastardized" so I guess we should all just be thankful that the songs will still live on, somehow - even though artists, such as Baltimora (Northern Ireland's Jimmy McShane), are no longer with us. LIVE ON TARZAN BOY! YOU ROCK!
