5.0 out of 5 stars You've gotta love Tarzan Boy!, June 7, 2000
This review is from: Tarzan Boy / Die Hard Lover (Audio CD)
I bought this CD just so that I would have a good copy of "Tarzan Boy".

Anyone who was alive during the 80's should remember it, or at least the "Listerine" commercial that used it as it's soundtrack. Best listened to while driving down the highway with the sunroof open, the song was popular for it's fast beat (which made it a good dance tune), and for it's unique jungle premise. This CD gives you the song at it's best, in clear, digital sound.

Before purchasing this CD, I had never heard of the other single on the album, "Die Hard Lover" by Cowley/Imperial. In my opinion, it's not bad, but just doesn't stand out, making it interchangeable with a lot of other 80's music.

I still give this CD 5 stars because, in my mind, just having "Tarzan Boy" made it worth it. And I listen to it often.

5.0 out of 5 stars Got to love Tarzan Boy!, January 28, 2003

My FIVE stars go simply for Tarzan Boy!
Die Hard Lover just doesn't do for me what Tarzan Boy does. Previous reviewer is right - sunroof open, stereo LOUD! How could you not like this song? Some may think that 80's music was the stepchild of generations before and not nearly as cool as the 90's - BUT let's not forget EVOLUTION and that the music of TODAY wouldn't be here unless generations before paved the way... AND if you were AT ALL an 80's fan, Baltimora captured the spirit with this one!
And, as a fan, I have to say, I was somewhat angered with Listerine for bastardizing the song. Many other bands, too, have been "bastardized" so I guess we should all just be thankful that the songs will still live on, somehow - even though artists, such as Baltimora (Northern Ireland's Jimmy McShane), are no longer with us.
LIVE ON TARZAN BOY! YOU ROCK!

5.0 out of 5 stars Tarzan Boy! A Beauchief House Classic!, July 20, 2003
This review is from: Tarzan Boy / Die Hard Lover (Audio CD)
"Night to night, Gimme the other, gimme the other..." how can you fail to sing and dance along to this 80's classic! Whether it be cruising through the streets of Saundersfoot or doin the legendary 'Horse dance' in Tenby's Beauchief Hotel!
It's an absolute must of a party song for every occasion!
Long live the spirit of 'Baltimora' down in Tenby!
So without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, I compere for the evening, Mike Kirby, give to you 'Tazan Boy-Mania!'

5.0 out of 5 stars OH MAN!!, March 16, 2005
This review is from: Tarzan Boy / Die Hard Lover (Audio CD)
I was just a kid, about 8 years old when I first heard this song in Mexico, I had no idea what the guy was saying at the time and I kept singing along "changoline" instead of Jungle life but it was all good and that song was a part of my child hood and I get the teary eye from wonderful memories, this song was known all over the world, I'm still a big fan of 80's music even though I was a kid on that decade, 80's music I think was more fun than the ones today, that's what it was, all out fun music, now it's all about violence, times change ofcourse but 80's music will always be played may be not on the radio but in some house somewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Linda Imperial's vocals are SUPERB!!!!, August 7, 2004
This review is from: Tarzan Boy / Die Hard Lover (Audio CD)
I just love these classic VOCAL song of our past/good''ol day's!! To say the very least of Linda Imperial, she is STILL moving ON with her vocal club hit's!! Frank LeVerde will always be a part of her life as well as our lives. This song to be distributed still to this very day; and not to mention also "Tarzan Boy" what a classic also. To be a part of this SOON to be "collectors item" I say "BUY IT NOW" Let's keep on supporting the "Good 'OL Days" of disco,,,and most of all; our recording artists that made their vocals run us to the ""DANCE FLOOR"" keep on to this day are: Linda Imperial,Jeanie Tracy,Martha Wash, Vickie Shepard, and untill recently in 2004, Jo-Carrol Davidson, who passed away suddenly in San Francisco. These song's will live forever in our hearts and in our souls.

There is nothing wrong whatsoever with liking the song Tarzan Boy by Baltimora. It is a good song. And the great thing is that now I am a man of leisure, so to speak, I get to sit around listening to it all day! Two thumbs up.
