Good game with good graphics,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Tarzan Untamed (Video Game)
Notice the difference between GOOD and GREAT. Anyway,This Tarzan game is much funner than the original for the N64. Tarzan:Untamed features good graphics that if you put them all together you will think it is another movie, the plot and storyline is good, the boss battles are somewhat fun (all you do is press the buttons shown at the bottom). Think of PaRappa the Rappa mixed with Tarzan and great graphics and they you go. It is fairly easy, it has about 20 or so levels and once you complete the game, you must find 75 reels in each of the levels which are actually easy. I'd buy it for the cheap price of twenty dollars even if I played it before. But higher than that it wouldn't be worth it. It does not feature a multi-player mode. The bungee, surfing and skiing levels are fun, but, it's replay value kind of drops. GRAPHICS: 5/5 SOUND: 3/3 REPLAY VALUE: 3/3 FUN: 4/5 Overall, like before, get it for the cheap price. It is not your answer to a heart-pumping adrenaline action game at all, but cheaper is better. I also recommend: SpyHunter Thanks for reading this review and I hope it helps you.

Not Luigi- but fun none the less!,

Watch for "rogue" reviews as people who are obviously out to give the GameCube a bad name are not giving good, helpful reviews. This game is a simple one-- that means its fun, but not hard to master. It takes a part of the Playstation Tarzan game that was fun-- the sliding on trees-- and expands it considerably. It will take a good bit of control not to slide off into oblivion, but anyone from 5 to 50 years old can still have fun with this one. The graphics are not ground breaking, but they are improved over the Playstation version and the jungle sounds are excellent. Don't buy this over Luigi- but if you already bought a couple of games and are looking for a good second string list, this one will fit that bill just fine!

Okay, it's cool when you ski and bunjee jump. It is the COOLEST when Tarzan gets chomped by an alligator. I bought this game and now I am sorry I did. Look, if you really want to see Tarzan in action, see the movie. Otherwise, you would be much happier getting Super Smash Bros. Regardless of the above, you should not get this game if your age does not range between 4-9.

Extreme Disney,
This review is from: Tarzan Untamed (Video Game)
Excerpts from the full review at Nintendorks:"Tarzan Untamed, from respected developer Ubi Soft, does a good job of living up to the movie it's based on. It's the only real 'kiddy' Gamecube launch game, and even this title is more mature than you'd expect from Disney. Tarzan Untamed features some standard 3D platforming, but adds levels with extreme-sports style. These sequences imitate the movie's most exciting scenes, where Tarzan's branch-sliding and vine-swinging involve skateboarding and bungie-jumping techniques. This refusal to be generic saves Tarzan Untamed from the unhappy fate of most licensed games: stale gameplay that doesn't even have that much to do with the license. Unfortunately, Tarzan Untamed never succeeds in becoming anything better than merely decent. Ubi Soft's approach to Tarzan's gameplay is really quite clever, somehow managing to be both innovative and derivative at the same time. If you've played Rayman 2 (and shame on you if you haven't), you've experienced most of the gameplay in Tarzan Untamed. Tarzan's platforming, which involves a lot of downhill sliding, should be immediately familiar. The "extreme" angle has been played up, and Tarzan can even rack up bonus points by pulling various tricks, but Rayman is clearly a bigger influence than Tony Hawk. The waterskiing sequences are another Ubi Soft throwback, with only the bungie jumping bonus stages and the downhill surfing offering divergences from Rayman 2. On one hand, you'd be hard-pressed to pick a better platformer to imitate and the gameplay fits perfectly with the Tarzan license. On the other hand, the game doesn't offer much that's new. Is Tarzan Untamed fun? Sure, and the varied gameplay keeps things from getting old too quickly. But it's not fun enough to warrant a purchase for most folks, and a gamer strapped for cash might even feel that renting this game would be a waste of money. This is the kind of game that you'd probably never buy, but it's not the worst possible thing you could get as a gift, and you'd probably have a good time playing it with a younger sibling. It's a solid game that shows that licensed games don't have to suck, and that a skilled third-party developer doesn't have to work too hard to make a worthwhile Gamecube title."

We play it on a Nintendo Wii, I just had to buy a new remote control to be able to use it.
My son is 4 1/2 y/old and likes this game. We still didn't figure out how to get through everything on it yet. I'm happy I bought it 'cause It's not a violent one. I would say it's worth up to U$20, better than paying U$50 for Batman as I did. I also recommend Mario Kart, Monkey Balls & Lego Indiana Jones for this age.

To me, this is one of the best games you can get. I understand that for the epxerienced gamer this isn't exactly the best, due to it being easy to learn and all, hence my not-full rating. But, and this is from experience, get a couple of kids taking turns whenever Tarzan dies, trying to complete the game? It's absolutely timeless. My friends and I screamed at the screen, yelling at each other and laughing our heads off trying to master the surfing and skiing levels, looking out for the reels of film that enable you to finish the game. And when it came to the boss levels, nothing was more nerve-racking as we struggled to remember the code and click the button at the same time. We worked together, and we had the best time. I think this is what the Playstation should be for, for group games! And Tarzan definitely is one.

I bought this game for my 7 year old and he loves it. When I watched him play I wanted to play too. Same thing with my husband and my 9 year old. It is easy enough for the kids but at the same time it is challenging for the adults. It is hard to explain. It is a lot of fun. At 19.95 you would not believe how much fun it is.

the truth about this Tarzan...,

this game isnt the worst nor the best platform action adventure game ive played for gamecube. there are only a few out right now such as pacman world and donal duck quackers( crash bandicoot clone). i would pic both of those games over this one. the graphics are very cartoony but not to bad. the worst part of the whole game is in level 2 where the monkey falls into the water and you surf some "rad" rapids. you have to listen to rosie odonell the voice of the monkey scream for help the whole level. after that level my hatred for rosie odonnel doubled. for a childrens game this game is actually some what challenging. its not very hard but i think tarzan would be targeted towards younger kids which i think would have a hard time with the game. overall the game is pretty short. but i dont even think its worth buying but maybe a rent. but if you want a good platform get pacman world 2.

My husband and I bought our first video game console this Christmas - the Gamecube. We're in our late 40's and we wanted to be able to learn to play without becoming discouraged or overwhelmed. We chose this game because we got the impression from the other reviews that it would be a nice game to learn with... and it is. I enjoy moving the character through the jungle, and learning to manipulate him in such a beautifully rendered scenic environment is a pleasure. The sound track is very enjoyable and I have had a fine time becoming more capable and learning the techniques needed to get through the game. My one criticism is that I wish I did not have to start all the way over at the beginning after I lose my last life in the level. I'd appreciate being able to pick up where I had left off before I made my last fatal error. But once I accepted this limitation and got used to starting all the way over again, I found myself taking comfort in mastering the earlier moves through repetition and getting to the more difficult areas more quickly. This game is a nice pleasant variation after playing Star Wars or Crazy Taxi.
