This recorder is wonderful. However, it is a little quiet (I find myself frequently using medium or high gain) and suffers an horrific squeal if phantom power is used in combination with non-phantom devices, such as a wireless lav. The li-ion battery lasts about 3 hours on average so you're better off keeping it plugged in or bringing rechargeable AA batteries or spare li-ion batteries. I recommend getting a separate field mixer with 48v phantom to reduce the need for the built-in gain and phantom power on the device.
