Product Description

From The Manufacturer

Part of Tasco's Essentials line, these binoculars balance optical performance and quality construction with a very affordable price. They feature an 10x magnification, a 21mm objective lens, and porro prism housing.

The handsome, rubber-armored housing not only absorbs shock and protects them from bumps and bruises, it adds in a weather resistance factor should it decide to rain--or snow--at the big event. Fully coated optics provide bright, clear images to enhance your viewing experience. Ideal for kids, families, casual sportsmen, golfers and travelers.

Tech Talk

  • Rubicon Coated Lenses: A Tasco exclusive, comprised of 14 different layers of multi-coating on the objective lens with a ruby-red tint to filter out red light for reduced glare in bright light.
  • Magnification: Magnification is indicated by the first number given. For instance, "7x" means that you will see an object seven times closer than if you were viewing with the naked eye.
  • Objective Lens Diameter: The objective lens diameter is indicated by the second number (e.g., 21mm), which indicates how much light is able to enter the binocular. The larger this number is the better your sight will be in lower light conditions.
  • Porro Prisms: The distinctive, off-set binocular housings accommodate two internal porro prisms, which are used to elongate the light path to enable higher magnifications than primitive field or "opera" glasses. Porro prism binoculars typically deliver exceptionally high optical quality at more affordable prices than roof prism binoculars of the same power rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great item to give a youngster, August 6, 2003

    (REAL NAME)
While not my first choice for a serious pair of binoculars, (I own 10x and 18x Canon IS binoculars) they are perfect for either a spare pair to keep in the car, or as a great gift for the young person or persons on your birthday or Christmas list. They are a definite step-up from the toy variety while not punching a big hole in your wallet.
