4.0 out of 5 stars Nice little scope for the money
I decided that it was time to get with the times with my AR-15 but couldn't justify spending a lot of dough on a scope given that I don't shoot as much as I like. Build quality is really nice with only the rail screws feeling a bit low budget. That said, the scope mounts up nice and tight and even after 300 rounds, it's holding zero like I had hoped (windage and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Another Chinese red dot ....
This is a generic red dot with a 3/8" clamp mount for most .22s and airsoft guns. It does what it's suppose to. It holds up well for most rimfire shooters and stays zeroed. I added some #13 Optical Butler Creek flip up covers just to protect it during storage. You'll see this same red dot scope sold under different names other than Tasco. Same Chinese factory builds them...

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice little scope for the money, August 3, 2010
This review is from: Tasco .22 Rimfire 1x30mm 5 MOA Red Dot Riflescope (Sports)
I decided that it was time to get with the times with my AR-15 but couldn't justify spending a lot of dough on a scope given that I don't shoot as much as I like. Build quality is really nice with only the rail screws feeling a bit low budget. That said, the scope mounts up nice and tight and even after 300 rounds, it's holding zero like I had hoped (windage and elevation screws are excellent). The dot is adjustable from perfect at night (setting 1) all the way up to eyeball searing (setting 11) in the brightest sunlight.

Honestly the only downside to this scope is that at 5 MOA, the dot is too big for mid to long distance shooting. If you're trying to reach out past 25 yards, your target better be pretty big or the dot will obscure what you're trying to hit (you will still hit it, you just can't super-precision shoot). The dust covers aren't attached so you have to put them in your pocket and the brightness control is pretty stiff (but smooth).

That said I'm pretty happy with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tasco Red Dot Sight, July 2, 2010

Sight was purchased for an air rifle used for rodent control. All I can say is it works flawlessly for its intended purpose. No more pine squirrels in the attic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent sight, October 28, 2011
This review is from: Tasco .22 Rimfire 1x30mm 5 MOA Red Dot Riflescope (Sports)
I installed these sights on an air pistol for target shooting, and after zeroing in, they are consistently accurate. They are ideal for ageing eyes that cannot focus clearly on open sights. They display a bright image, are easy to adjust and install, well made, and hold their setting. They provide all that I require in a sight, and make shooting enjoyable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buy something else, November 4, 2011
This review is from: Tasco .22 Rimfire 1x30mm 5 MOA Red Dot Riflescope (Sports)
I bought this one day after I picked up a .22 lr pistol. I figured just to have some fun I would put a red dot on top of the rail. I the .22 for plinking only and figured this was cheap enough that if I didnt use it no big deal. The first time I put it on and zeroed it in it was OK for about 100 rounds or so. Next trip to the range the dot was way off. I spent the remainder of the time at the range trying to get it zeroed in. I had no luck took it off and it sat on the shelf. I eventually tried mounting it on top of my AR. I spent more money in ammo trying to dial this piece of junk in than the red-dot is worth. I believe it broke somehow as no matter what I adjusted for elevation and it was permanently stuck very high right. I never dropped the scope or mistreated it.

Save your money and get a Bushnell trs-25 or vortex both are great red dots for the price range.
