for $30, how can you go wrong? it works, it fits, its a decent quality. ive put around 200 rounds through my AR15 using this. it needed very little sighting in at 50 yards, moreso at 100. its not a precision scope......its a red dot used mainly for combat type situations. just put the dot on the target and it goes down. at 50 yds you can put nearly every shot in the black rings. at 100, the dot covers nearly the entire bullseye area, so its harder to be as accurate. but youll still be near enough the center, and easily hit a man or animal at that range. and again, for $30, how can you go wrong? worth every penny.

An airsoft gun user's review,

I bought this to attach to my Crosman S32P airsoft shotgun which has a compatible mounting system. It installed easily and was fairly simple, albeit tedious, to calibrate. It feels very solid to use, and durable. The calibration is done using little screwheads underneath plastic caps; you'll need a penny or something to adjust them, not just your fingers.
My only wishes: it would be nice if the lens covers could pop up instead of just being removed--I'm sure one day I'll completely lose the caps--and the dot is slightly large at longer distances, which can be partially remedied by adjusting the brightness. At the full brightness of 11, it's easily visible in bright light. At 1, you need almost a completely dark room to see it.

Though I have only used it twice, this is a good scope for the price with free delivery (thanks Amazon). I mounted it on a Ruger 10/22 and I love it so far. This is great for quick target acquisition. I have used it up to 100 yards. Of course, this is not an Aimpoint, but I didn't want to pay $300+ to outfit a cheap plinker. Calibration was quick using my gun sights (it took about 5 fired rounds). The brightness setting knob is a bit hard to turn at first but seems to loosen up after repeated use. So far, it has no problem holding a zero. The glass is also pretty clear. However, you will have to set the scope on its highest brightness setting in order to view the dot on sunny days. If you just want something to play with at the range, this is a great choice.

Prefect for a .22!,

I was torn about whether or not to get a red dot to put on my 10/22. On one hand I thought it would be a nice upgrade after shooting irons for a year. On the other I was concerned about ruining the classic look on my wood stock factory 10/22. I decided I would just risk the 30 dollars and purchase this red dot. I must stay, it has greatly improved ease of shooting and DOES NOT ruin my rifle's good looks.
INSTALLATION: I honestly believe this is where most people go wrong, with poor install of scopes and mounts. MAKE SURE EVERY SCREW IS LOCTITED in place. Don't skip a screw and hope you didn't need it. If you do not Loctite your screw they will "walk " or rotate out of place and mess up your zero. I also used white modeler's paint to make "witness marks" to allow to see a screws rotation. The little bottle of Loctite is worth the money. Henkel 01-24200 Loctite 6-ml Threadlocker 242 FOCUS AND POWER: When I first opened the optic I switched it to full power and was disappointed. The dot was unfocused and too bright. Once I dialed it down to setting 1 and 2 the dot became much more focused and not blinding. I normally shoot at setting 1 or 2(indoor range with poor lighting). The darker it is the less power is needed. I tried it outdoors and still only need to go to 4. If you adjust your power setting according to your lighting then the dot will remained focused. ZEROING: I zeroed this optic in a matter of minutes using only 10 rounds(you could do it in less). It was not difficult I just turned the elevation screw a quarter turn until I shot below my target mark and then found the butter zone between the last turn and the point I went over. I have fired about 400 rounds with it and the zero hasn't moved. FINISH: The one criticism I have of the sight is the rather cheap finish. It's kind of a rubberized paint over top of a powercoat. It must have not been properly degreased before the rubberizing because it has chipped in some areas. On the brightness nob and Windage adjustment cover. To me it isn't a big deal YMMV. OVERALL: I like this a lot. It works, it didn't cost me much and I was easy to setup. Remember to Loctite your screws and adjust the power setting according to your lighting. I hope you found this review helpful and have the same success as I. PS: Will update if something changes. UPDATE: Battery life is excellent! It have left it on multiple times for 24 hours or more and it still has full power!

This scope can't be compared with a high end one but definitely does its job pretty well. I installed it on my Remington 870 Tactical easily and hasn't failed so far. Considered a bang for the buck. I'd definitely recommend this scope to every enthusiast.

Can't beat the quality for the price,

This little red dot is a great quality build for the price. I already have a couple hundred rounds through it and still is holding it's zero. For those mounting on an AR platform you will probably have to get a weaver (picatinny) rail to put on top of your stock weaver rail to raise it above your front sight if it's not removable. Overall very happy with the product, would recommend to anyone wanting to get a red dot but not having to take out a mortgage just to buy one.

Mounted on a newer model Ruger 10/22 using the Ruger provided mounting plate.
Initially I was very impressed with this scope. Dot was extremely bright!!.. requiring setting 7 or 8 for use outdoors in most sunny conditions. However, in no time a second smaller dot began to appear & would create a moving "hair like" drawing. This second dot, or now a continuous line became distracting & started to defeat the whole idea of a fast acquisition red dot scope. Contacted Amazon & they sent me a replacement right away (5 stars to Amazon). When the new scope arrived, there was no secondary dot & no squiggly line. What I did notice though was that the dot appeared to be a lot dimmer. When compared side by side, the new scope on 10 was equivalent to the other scope on 6. Even at night, setting 1 was dim. In the end, I decided to keep the original defective scope as the second appearing dot seems to appear sporadically vs. the constantly dim replacement scope. All in all, if quality control was better, this would be a great scope. The size is great, the finish is a nice matte black, zeroing in is relatively easy & mounting is secure. I'm not too bummed, as this was my first red dot scope (I wanted cheap) as I am still figuring out what sighting system is best for my shooting needs. If this red dot converts me to a full-time red dot user, I will then pony up for something nice. I would not recommend this product to others as it appears to be a crap shoot on what you will get.

Tasco Red Dot Works,
This review is from: Tasco Red Dot 1 x 30mm Rifle Scope 5 MOA Dot Reticle (Sports)
I have the Tasco Red Dot mounted on my GSG-5 .22 cal rifle. Within 50 yards once I have it sighted in it is a consistently accurate sight. It holds its aimpoint, is easy to view in all light conditions including high-altitude Colorado. Beyond 50 yards accuracy degrades because the dot overwhelms the aimpoint. For the money this sight is worth every penny and has enhanced my afternoons of plinking at the range. Pick one up - you'll be glad you did.

Great Red-Dot Scope Dead On At 50 Yards,

I use this Red-Dot scope on my Ruger MKIII 5 1/2 inch Bull Barrel Target Pistol at
the target range (outdoors). Red dot is strong even during the brightest of days. I Have no problems hitting my target at 50 yards. I made no adjustments, use it set right where it was when it arrived. Since this is a .22LR pistol there is no kick or recoil, so I didn't have to use loctite or anything. I just check to make sure it's good and tight before I use it. The balance on Ruger MKIII is perfect with this scope mounted on it. I highly recconmend this Red-Dot for anyone looking a good inexpensive scope.

This is my first red dot sight, and it was so cool the first time I used it! The sight picture and the dot are very sharp and clear. The size of the dot is perfect, at least for my old eyes out to 25 yards. There have been no problems at all on a .22lr pistol, although I haven't had time to put a lot of rounds through it since I mounted the sight. Remember to use blue Loctite on the threads! I use it strictly for target shooting, so it doesn't bother me, but note that the lens caps are not attached. I think that attached lens caps would be nice if you use it in the field. But for $30, it's a steal.
