  • 30/30 reticle
  • Black finish
  • SuperCon coating (heat-treated, fully multi-coated optics throughout)

Tech Talk

  • What the Numbers Mean: The numbers for each scope tell you the scopeÕs power or magnification rating, whether the magnification can be increased or decreased with a zoom dial, and the diameter of the objective lens. So, a 3-9x50mm is a scope with a variable zoom magnification from 3x to 9x with a 50 millimeter objective lens.
  • How Much Magnification: Because high-powered riflescopes have a smaller field-of-view than a lower powered scope, choose your magnification with the distance you will be shooting in mind. Use low power for close shots in brush or deep woods and high power when hunting distant game in the mountains, open fields and prairie.
  • Fixed vs. Zoom Magnification: Variable power scopes, or zooms, offer the benefits of high, medium and low powers, all in one scope. Zooms are particularly advantageous in changing light, weather, environmental conditions or geographic locations and when you're hunting different types of game. In short, variables enable the hunter to use the scope under various circumstances--from close-in brush hunting to open range hunting. Fixed or low power scopes are recommended for hunting dangerous game, especially at close range or in dense foliage where a wide field of view is required and where a mistake in distance estimation could have dire consequences.
  • 30/30 Reticle: Four picket-shaped posts are set at 90 degrees from one another. The center point is created by the crossing of fine crosshairs that connect the opposing pickets. This pattern can be used to measure distance. Using the 30/30 reticle, the crosshair lines represent an area 30" across at 4x from 100 yards away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Scope, January 20, 2010

This is an awesome scope! I put it on my 30-06 and love it! I was in debate on the 3x9-40 or the 3x9-50, I went with the 3x9-50 and am glad I did. I have only range shot this scope out to 300yds and was impressed with how clear it is. It's not as clear as my VX-III I have on my Ruger 280 but at about 1/10 the price it is well worth it. I've put about 20 shots through my rifle and never had to re-zero it. I feel more than comfortable taking an Elk with this scope 300-500 yds, if I can't call them closer that is.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Buy, December 26, 2011

A good scope for almost any caliber. The optics are sound however the cross hairs are a little thicker than one may like for shooting extremely tight one shot groups as they tent to cover a lot of the target.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Scope In This Price Range, November 1, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Tasco World Class 3-9x50 Riflescope w/30/30 Reticle (Sports)
There was a mistake in filling my order and I received the same scope in 3-9x40 instead. The seller offered me a partial refund if I would keep the scope I received, which is what I did after realizing that I really liked the wrong scope.

I give this scope 5 stars while taking the price into account. I would not say that it comes close to a Leupold or Shepherd scope. But I would, however, put it up against a higher line Weaver or Nikon scope. Considering the price, that says a lot. This scope is very bright... the amount of light that comes through is impressive. After playing with this scope on my AK-47 for a while, I used it to replace a Weaver K6 on my 30-06. The difference in clarity and light gathering is huge. I have no issue at all in taking out a small animal like a rabbit at dusk at the 200 yard range. That's overkill for a rabbit, but it would be easy to do with my rifle/scope combo.

The scope seems well built. Caps over the adjustments are machined aluminum and not plastic. I clamped the scope rings down tight and have not crushed the tube, so it is sufficiently stout. It maintained zero even after my cased gun fell over onto the carpeted floor.

When I made this purchase, I wasn't able to shell out 5X this price for a scope, so I decided to see what I could do on the cheap. I am very happy that I got a scope of this quality at such a low price.
