About the Author: Tasha Scott was born in Rodeo, California in the Bayo Vista Housing Projects. She excelled in her education graduating at age 16. She attended law school at New College School of Law in San Francisco. She practiced law in Richmond, Oakland and San Francisco, California.
She has been compiling her cookbook for over forty years from recipes passed around in her family. The family picnics in Tilden Park with her Uncle Jessie; the family dinners at Grandma Terry's, Mama Ida's, Mama Letty's and my Mom Rebecca's were all a familial bonding experience for our family. It improved and solidified our relationships and commitments to each other. It kept us in touch and in love with each other despite distance and/or disagreement.
This cookbook has over 75 classic soulfood recipes gathered from my family and friends over the years. It is true that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. A well cooked meal can make all the difference in a relationship or in an introduction to someone's new family. You have to use the right bait for the big fish to bite. Good luck.
Many people love to cook like me and I have given them lots of opportunities to become great cooks. I hope you enjoy my grandmothers' recipes as much as I have. My joy is incapable of expression in words, you need to experience these dishes for yourself. This is the first cookbook but she has begun to assemble volume 2 already.
