Living in Michigan every once in a while you see Tashmoo Park stuff in the antique stores and I've always been interested in ships - and this is one of the Great Lakes "great ones" - it's a very interesting book with tons of photos and short concise text - as I said, I was more interested in the ship than the Park - but the author does try for a good balance here.

My husband and I have a boat on Lake St. Clair. I bought this book as a gift for my husband. I love all of the Arcadia books and have given others as gifts. I find them to be interesting about their subjects. They are short reads with pictures which makes them nice for just a moment that you might have to sit down. I would never hesitate to give any Arcadia book as a gift again.

Grew up in the general area, Heard lots of tales through family members regarding the ship, but not much surrounding the area. Sadly, as with most of the "rust belt", it's all gone through neglect and non-interest. Book provides a good starting point.
