4.0 out of 5 stars Tassimo Euro Coffee Variety Pack
This is a great way to sample different offerings from the Tassimo line. Particulary enjoyed the Jacobs Latte Macchiatto. The Mastro Lorenzo Crema is smooth with alot of depth of flavor. 3.0 out of 5 stars Jacobs is my favorite
I have purchased this before at the regular price (less 20% off). The Jacobs is one of our favorites. We served it Thanksgiving to rave reviews. It is geared more for the casual coffee drinker. The Carte Noir is good and the Mastro Lorenzo Crema is okay. This is a good deal to restock your pantry.

The Carte Noire Petit Dejeuner was good, with a rich taste, but would prefer to have something a little stronger/bolder, needs more of a 'kick' like the others included in this Variety Pack have. Overall great taste and value, would definitely buy again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Coffee - Reminds me of trip to Europe, December 24, 2008
This review is from: Tassimo European Coffee Variety Pack Carte Noire Petit Dejeuner, 16-Discs, Jacobs Latte Machiato, 16-Discs, Mastro Lorenzo Crema, 16-Discs (Grocery)
I really have enjoyed this coffee a lot. One of the other reviewers said "It doesn't taste good", but I think this is a personal thing for the most part. These are some of the largest brands in Europe and have proven to be really hard to find in the US. Thanks Amazon for bringing this item on. I am going to stock up!

This variety pack blows everything else away! So far I have had the Mastro Lorenzo Crema and the Jacobs Machiato. BOTH are smooth, flavorful, full bodied and not bitter at all. I was truly amazed..AND so glad I had ordered two! Can't wait to try the Carte Noire Petite Dejuner...I am sure I won't be disappointed....and neither will you. Tassimo ROCKS!

These are all great coffees and represent an excellent value especially combined with the $25.00 off promo when you purchase 3 boxes.

I've sampled 7 different offerings so far and considering that ---subject to INDIVIDUAL tastes and preferences, the coffees were all excellent! I do consider myself an educated coffee drinker, and I do appreciate all styles. For me coffee is like eating cake or drinking wine, there are many tasty styles and variations.

The personalities all varied, but every cup was fresh, and this is very difficult to achieve if you brew coffee at home and the most important reason for going with a Tassimo or its cousins.

To me, The European Variety Pack seemed like lighter versions of true european coffee --however I still enjoyed them.

There is one caveat, the Jacob Latte Machiatto. Although the coffee itself was excellent, the milk was not. Latte machiatto uses just a spot of espresso in a full cup of steamed milk and this was more like milky water with coffee.

The milk disks are truly an abmonination, it tastes like watery evaporated milk, I'd sooner use a can of carnation milk. As for the coffee itself, I found it delicious. So this is where I deducted a star. I would rather they replace the milk disks with more of the coffee disks. Despite my complaint on the milk disks, this was my favorite selection of the three. I'd like to see this coffee offered without the milk discs.

The Mastro Lorenzo has a more full bodied round but flatter taste due to the robusto beans as compared to pure arabica beans, kind of like a diner coffee but stronger, and definitely tastier.

The Carte Noir Petit Dejeuner is bright and slightly acidic. It reminds me of the donut chain coffees, Dunkin Donuts and Tim Horton's come to mind, as Dunkin Donuts coffee can vary considerably from store to store and batch to batch, this coffee is actually preferable.

All in all, I enjoyed these coffees immensley as straight coffee with cream. All three work for making a latte/cafe au lait if you heat your own milk, which frankly is easy to do, only slightly more labor intesive and certainly amore earth friendly approach.

This variety pack should definitely be on your to try list. If you like a thinner lighter taste, more water can be added and the coffees would still be tasty. I like to short them to make my morning latte.

The only exception is if you like really strong coffee with an acidic slightly burnt taste, then stick to Starbucks.

At the local stores, Gevalia, Maxwell House, Starbucks dominate the selections available for my Tassimo coffee maker. These European coffees are a wonderful diversion from the ordinary. I especially like the Italian Crema-but all are very good. I will buy them again!

This combination is perfect, makes you appreciate each one all the more when you mix up how you drink the three during the week. Maestro Lorenzo the best. If it was chocolate, it would be an Europoean Dark.

An excellent method of trying out various coffee offerings without having to get stuck with boxes of coffee that you really don't want. I liked them all, but to each, his own taste.

If you like the bolder tastes of European coffees, these discs are for you. I ordered them as an experiment, and because I got one free with an offer I had from Amazon. Glad I did. I'm hooked on the Latte Machiato. With a little hazlenut and coconut Stasero syrups, I get a Toasted Coconut Machiato that's down right yummy. Make it in a clear glass cup so you can appreciate the layers before you stir it up and guzzle it down. It's excellent. All of these have good flavor and, with company here, there was something for everyone. Cheers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Some of the best of Tassimo's line!, January 4, 2009
By
This review is from: Tassimo European Coffee Variety Pack Carte Noire Petit Dejeuner, 16-Discs, Jacobs Latte Machiato, 16-Discs, Mastro Lorenzo Crema, 16-Discs (Grocery)
I personally have not purchased this variety pack but have purchased each of the flavors individually for my Tassimo... I love 'em!

The Mastro Lorenzo Crema is a consistent favorite, and is always kept stocked in my pantry. It has a wonderfully bold and nutty flavor without being overpowering or bitter. It makes a beautiful head of foam (sugar will sit on top of it for a good 2-3 seconds before sinking into the drink), and produces a nice aroma. The Gevalia Signature Crema, by comparison, is weak and watery... this can be improved by cutting the brewing process short, and I've had to resort to his method waiting for my next shipment of Mastro Lorenzo to come in.

The Carte Noir produces a great cup of coffee as well. As a medium roast, it's perfect as a "whenever" coffee, and not bitter like the Starbucks House Blend medium roast. I am a big fan of the Jacobs Kroenung brand, which is very similar in taste.

The Jacobs Macchiato is good too, though not a head-and-shoulders winner over the Gevalia Lattes. Contrary to what some people may say, you CAN prepare the Gevalia Lattes in reverse order (milk first, then espresso) just like the Jacobs to produce the same "layering effect." The taste in my opinion is roughly the same... which is by no means a bad thing.

I'm very happy that this variety pack has become available and will definitely scoop one up for my Tassimo! I hope that more of these European varieties are made available so we can enjoy them as well! Keep 'em comin', Amazon...
