5.0 out of 5 stars D-e-l-i-g-h-t-f-u-l!, September 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A Taste of Club Creavalle (Ring-bound)
I finally picked up both of Laura's cook books and I was especially pleased with the variety in this one. The recipes are generally, full meal types- a combination of both carbs and proteins and, of cource, low in the fat department. So far, I have tried 6 different recipes and all have really impressed me. I also liked the fact that she lists the calorie information on each recipe. Thats helpful in planning my diet- and saves a lot of time looking up calorie counts in books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended for "non-cooks", August 18, 1999

One of my pastimes and hobbys is to collect cookbooks. I have a wide variety of over 100 of them, and the great majority sit adjacent to my stove, upon a special shelf I built, collecting dust. While many books seem appealing and I get all psyched up upon purchasng my books, the directions and ingredients most of my cook books call for, make it a pain in the you know what to make. This book is easy easy easy! Try the southwest chicken. It takes 20 minutes to make and its truly amazing!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Food! Very Good Book!!!, August 29, 2002
By
This review is from: A Taste of Club Creavalle (Ring-bound)
I am a female lightweight bodybuilder and fitness enthusiast. I really needed to learn more about low-fat/healthy cooking that my family would enjoy and eat. (I already know how to make the fattening stuff!) This book has wonderful recipes. The cheesecake is so good people don't believe it is low fat, the tuna dip is excellent for parties. I am really enjoying everything I have tried. I thought the use of fat-free products would be bland and not appealing at all, but I was very wrong. The recipes are very tasty. One drawback is that some of the recipes are confusing, ie. the cheesecake ingredient list calls for fat-free yogurt, then recipe states "to add lemon yogurt". So be sure to read the recipe entirely before shopping so you can be clear on what you really need to buy. Also, the nutritional information is not always accurate. (I plugged some of the recipes into a nutritional software program.) But it is a good book with great recipes nonetheless. I am buying it as gifts for all of my friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Laura has NEVER led us wrong!, July 1, 1999
By
This review is from: A Taste of Club Creavalle (Ring-bound)
Living and eating healthy overseas has its challenges, but since Laura has actually cooked for a sheikh here in the UAE in her lowfat style, she has proven to us it can be done! She and Chris Aceto are dedicated to the lowfat lifestyle, and made us believers as well! We have used Laura's menus for entertaining as well as healthy meals for just the two of us, and her recipes have never failed us. This book is a good investment in healthy and delicious eating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tastes Great!, April 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A Taste of Club Creavalle (Ring-bound)
I have followed Laura's recipes in Muscle and Fitness for the last couple of years and have made at least a half dozen of her outstanding recipes. I was thrilled to learn of this book and was equally happy when it arrived-the recipes are easy to make, there's plenty of variety from main cource type meals to desserts that are suprisingly, very low in fat and sugar but good tasting too. I would suggest this book to anyone who is lookig for a cook book that is low in fat but has recipes that you really use!!! I hate books that are filled with useless, hard to make, thousand ingredient recpes

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious food, with no guilt..., February 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A Taste of Club Creavalle (Ring-bound)
These recipes are incredible... light, low on fat, and healthy across the board. Each recipe features a nutritional breakdown so you can figure it into your diet program. Laura spares none of the taste in putting together an incredible variety of flavors, tastes, and ethnic styles. Having attended Club Creavalle in Florida, I can vouch first hand for the passion Laura has for cooking. She manages to find creative ways to make even the most sinful sounding foods (like her World Famous Cheesecake[a must try], or even Tiramisu) taste just as good, without the high fat content. If you're looking for a great cookbook to keep you on your diet, without sacrificing flavor, this is the one!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally!, June 26, 2002
This review is from: A Taste of Club Creavalle (Ring-bound)
I am a new fitness competitor, and I had a hard time adjusting to the "off season". I didnt know how to eat, and how to cook! This book has become my staple. I have made soooo many recipes in here and have yet to be disappointed. The fact that she breaks down the macronutrients is wonderful for those of us that need to watch them closely! I even think it would be great for someone who wants to learn about a healthy lifestyle.
The banana fudge cake is wonderful!!!!!
