My mother has this cookbook and I am thrilled to see it here on Amazon! I'm buying one for myself. I highly recommend the red velvet cake and italian cream cake. The best you'll ever taste. I also made the carrot cake for Thanksgiving and it was a hit! Everyone loved it. You can't go wrong with this cookbook!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cook like Gramdma!, October 4, 2000
This review is from: A Taste of Homecoming: Traditional Cooking from the Heartland of the South (Spiral-bound)
I am 30 years old and have lived in the shadow of my husbands Baptist cooking grandmas. I thought I would never be able to meet or beat that home-cooked taste, but with these recipes, I have brought that taste to MY generation!! The food is just incredible, and easy to follow recipes make it understandable!! I highly recommend this cookbook (especially the hash brown casserole) and am even buying it for Grandma's Christmas present.
