More About the Author

I wear a lot of hats. I'm a mother, veteran (U.S.A.F. Security Forces), freelance writer, novelist, marketing consultant, magazine mogul and tequila aficianado.

Some of my interests include terrorists and terrorism, the small arms trade, human trafficking and drug trafficking. All of these topics are represented in the Task Force 125 series which are stories of espionage and paramilitary operations centered around the character of Sarah Stevens who is recruited into the CIA's Special Activities Division.

I also enjoy putting my business degree and interest in social media to use as a social media siren and marketing maven.

Previously, I was a military cop in the U.S. Air Force who spoke French, Russian and Spanish, traveled the world as a U.N. Peacekeeper, was trained as a Hostage Negotiator by the FBI and worked with MI-5 on personal security details.

I loved the first book. Sadly, the second one did not live up to my expectations. I missed the part where it said 135 pages, so this is a novella, not the full novel I expected. The good: I got sucked into the story again because I like the characters. The bad: If I hadn't read the first book, I wouldn't know who half the team was or why/what they were all about and what their roles were on the team. The good: Beautifully descriptive again. I felt like I was there. The bad: This book took a nose dive for me at what I thought was the half-way point, but turned out to be the end.

*Spoiler Alert - Read no further if you have issues with that.*
I was totally pissed off at the end of this for several reasons. I didn't buy the "ending" and the gift/will. It felt fake and seemed out of character for such a careful man. I don't mind fade to black, but after all the build up, I didn't feel anything when Sarah and Vince got together. In fact, I wasn't even sure if they did and had to reread this section several times. What a let down. I didn't need the details, but I did need the emotion and that was missing. Finally, and this really pissed me off, this is a cliff-hanger. It left me feeling like I'd been cheated. It was written for the sole purpose of making me buy the next book. Good thing it was only .99. This is NOT a novel like the first book was - this is a darn short novella. I liked the first book so much that I was an idiot and bought this book and book three at the same time - please see my review of it. I really was disappointed.

Sarah Stevens has found her niche among her Special Forces team. She's transformed herself from a fat, insecure doormat to a knockout who's unafraid to take on the world - and any terrorist who happens to get in her way. The problem is underneath her kick butt exterior is still a woman longing to be loved and accepted.

There's a unique camaraderie between Sarah and the rest of her team. They spar, argue, tease, generally enjoy each other's company and trust one another with their lives. That sort of trust often takes months to develop yet she fits right in and has never regretted her decision to join forces with these dynamic men. She's never hesitated to put the team first but her deep feelings for team leader Vince could potentially lead to problems - especially if she can't put them aside and focus on the missions.

Building a life with Vince is nothing more than a dream so it only makes sense that Sarah date and enjoy being an attractive desirable woman - something she still has trouble believing sometimes. Unfortunately the date she's agreed to go on with her tutor's son turns out to be an unmitigated disaster - not because of the man who's actually quite personable and charming - but how was she to know that he's a major arms dealer? The road to love is never easy but when you're a member of the Special Forces is even more complicated. With their newest mission a whole new tricky situation develops when a blast from her past comes back into her life. Sarah may be a soldier, but she's a woman first and foremost and keeping her emotions from overriding her duty is a challenge she's fully capable of winning.

I've anxiously awaited this story since I first read the first book in the TASK FORCE 125 series.

I was afraid this book wasn't going to be as action packed as the first, but I was mistaken! This one is just as great as the first! The steamy chemistry between Sarah and Vince holds true! You even get the fun quirkyness of the other team members! I even liked the cliffhanger ending where Vince is captured so that you know there will be another book! As I was reading this book i could picture everything that was going on and I loved it! I was upset when Sarah got shot, but liked that it showed how human she really is. I was starting to think she's Wonder Woman! This is a great book to read!

Interesting characters, good read with some action. Love to see her develop some stories that focus on the rest of the team. I like her writing style and pace.
