3.0 out of 5 stars Nice mix of romance and suspense
I usually don't go for romance novels, but Ms. Bussey has something. I liked her characters, they seemed to leap off the page, even the ones that weren't too likable. A nice leisurely read, I would recommend it.

"A Taste of Love" was my first book by Loure' Bussey. This was a good book. Nia was a kind hearted, gentle person. She was beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside. After the disappointments in her life and spending her life supporting her brothers, Nia deserved something wonderful to happen in her life. That wonderful act was meeting Roland and sharing a life with him. Nia and Roland were a wonderful couple. However, where there is joy, evil or sadness tries to creep in. This was in the form of Suzanne, who held a grudge against Nia for something Nia had no control of. Suzanne was successful and rich, but that was not enough to buy her happiness. Her heart was filled with hatred, so she could not enjoy what life had given her. Not only was Nia wishing for just a taste of love, but so was Suzanne. However, the taste Suzanne wanted was always what was Nia's. A Taste of Love has some revealing twists. It is not only a romance, but has a little bit of suspense in it that keeps the reader wondering, just as Nia is wondering, why Suzanne holds a grudge against Nia.

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Taste of Love, November 2, 2000
This review is from: A Taste Of Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Yes, Bussey kept me up half the night reading Nia and Roland's story. I will be Roland's hired help any day of the week if he makes me feel the same way he made Nia feel in this book. It really was a great book, I couldn't put it down!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Daring Romantic Adventure!, December 13, 1999
This review is from: A Taste Of Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Loure' Bussey once again, has managed to give us an outstanding performance with her writing of this novel. I truly enjoyed this story and felt, never say you can not meet the love of your life while on the job. Nia faced so many hurdles but in the midst of it all she was able to find love, faith, courage and the opportunity to use her given talent, all from her chance meeting of Roland Davenport. The blending of the remaining characters in this book compliment to the entire overall affects of this story. It's full of romantic scenes, twists, surprises and yes a taste of adventure. Loved Nia and Roland, Suzanne, well she has serious issues that need special attention and Kal, well he did redeem himself finally! Love to see the woman who will grab Kal's attention, maybe this can be a future story? If you have read other books by this author, than please check this one out, you will enjoy it!

I liked this book. Nia was a beautiful girl. She really tried to make something of herself. I also liked all the other characters except for one.

I really disliked Suzanne. She was evil to the bone. I was really getting disgusted with her. I wish there was a follow-up book where she found real love. I do believe there are people out there that are really evil just like her. It is too bad though. Everyone deserves to find their true love. But you must have love in your heart in order to find that true love. This is a very steamy book. It is truly worth reading. Ms. Bussey accomplished creating very thorough characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Love Story, December 19, 1999

A book that you cannot put down!

A Taste Of Love is one of those books that once you read it the characters live inside of you forever. Nia and Roland's passionate love became so real to me. I smiled when they smiled, and cried when they hurt. I also enjoyed Kal, and kept hoping that Suzanne would get what she deserved. A spectacular read! I love all of Ms. Bussey's books. Most Of All, and now A Taste Of Love are my favorites. Don't miss this story or you'll miss something special. I'm hoping she'll write a sequel. I want to read more.

4.0 out of 5 stars The best romance book that I have ever read., August 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A Taste Of Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was very interesting. I like how the author mixed in all the characters together instead of them not having anything in common. I also like the surprise ending and hope to hear from the author that there is a continued part of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Splendid!, August 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A Taste Of Love (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
I've read two other books by Loure Bussey and liked both of them. However, this novel stands in a class of its own. It's magnificently written, the story is stimulating and refreshing. I immediately fell in love with both main characters, Nia Lashon and Roland Davenport. I was pleasantly surprised with the ending of this book. It's a must read!

This critic gives "A Taste Of Love" two thumbs up, a strawberry sundae with nuts and 5 out of 5 stars. Well done, Ms. Bussey, you are to be commended.
