Richard found his taste of love...Excelletn read,
This review is from: A Taste of Love: Richard (Paperback)
This is the second book in the Drace brother series. My Deepest Love:Zack is the first book.
Richard Drace had tried fighting his feelings for the gorgeous Dawn Summers for month. He wasn't going to say how much he craved her touch or loved the fact she liked being around him. He was only interested in her saving his resturant, but all of his plans blow up in his face when Dawn misunderstands something he said to her causing her to storm out of his business and life. Months goes by and he can't find her. With her gone from his life Richard starts to figure out that Dawn is the one for him. He vows to find her and make her his wife....how his plans doesn't go according to plan. Yes, he does find Dawn. She agrees to come back to work for him, but with one condition. She's only going to stay until she gets his business back up and running after that she out of there. Richard realizes that he has an up hill battle on his hands, but he willingly to fight tooth and nail to get his ring on Dawn's finger. I really loved this story. It kept reading into the plot from beginning to end. I this Ms. Rochelle did a very good job at allowing Richard to have his story and adding touches and peeks of his brothers into the story. Very nice job.

Good story line and I think it was good to show the female had had enough and was preparing to move on--should have done this before 'working' in the sex club. Since he fired her, didn't she get unemployment benefits. Of course Richard was close to his brothers, but what a dumbazz to view the tape with them. He behaved like an adolescent and not a grown man and his actions were a complete turn off and I found nothing exciting about him at all: he was mean spirited and immature.

Marie Rochelle seems to be the new author in interracial romances. I have to say that I like her style-- somewhat-- but want her to give more. More romance, more detailed love-making (lets face it, more love making period) and less whiny Black women. I'm sorry, but Black women are NOT that finicky and annoying.
That being said, 'A taste of Love' is the best in the series that Rochelle has created. I loved the dialogue and of course the segue for the other life issues/romantic entanglement brother's in this series. I actually believed that the two main characters were actually falling in love. If only all men could be as romantic as Richard... Marie: Please make your stories a bit more romantically inclined.ie. lets have some more love making! a sentence or two does NOT cut it.

Great for a quick read..,

Even though the story felt a bit rushed at the end, the story premise was very good. I did enjoy the back forth angst between the two main characters. I did however, at times, find Richard's personality unappealing an at times borderline offensive. I had to struggle to really see why Dawn stayed and continue to tolerate his verbal lashings and put downs.

I love the relationship between the two main characters as well as the secondary characters in the book. It also shows you just how family can influence our personal relationships with others.

A Taste of Love,
This review is from: A Taste of Love: Richard (Paperback)
Richard Drace has been in trouble ever since his restaurant manager, Dawn Summers, came into his life. Things took a turn for the worse in more ways than one when Dawn left D4. He denied his attraction to her and resented the way she did things. Too bad he was so vocal about it because he's about to lose everything he's worked so hard for. It's worth his pride to ask her to come back now that he's acknowledged and accepted how he truly feels.
Dawn resents the fact that she walked around Richard wearing her heart on her sleeve. He could never see her as anything more than a pushy employee. His every rejection cut until she was forced to leave D4. Now he wants her back. If she decides to work for him again, everything will be on her terms this time. She's not willing to risk her heart again. What can I say except that Marie Rochelle has done it again? The "it" is the magic she creates between Richard and Dawn in A Taste of Love: Richard. If romance were a tonic then I'd say this author wrote the formula. There is so much intensity and emotion between these characters that you become a part of each scene. They don't hold back and it's conveyed in every sentence. From the sharp exchanges in the office to the hot sex, no page was left unturned when I took the plunge to escape into this smart, modern tale. Did I mention that Ms. Rochelle likes to subtly sneak twists into the plot? Well she does, and it's a nice touch. This is the second book of The Drace Brother series, and all the brothers, along with their lady loves, pop in to contribute to Richard and Dawn's story. The best part is that this can be read as a stand-alone but will make you want to back track to Zack and Traci's story if you missed reading it. I still insist that Marie Rochelle is a unique voice in contemporary I/R romance and I believe that she'll be around for a while gaining new fans with her fresh and vivid style. Patrice F. This story was just okay. It was a quick read. I guess maybe I would have to read the other books to understand Richard and Dawn's relationship, but I won't.
The sideline story of the video tape was too predictable and the romance between Richard and Dawn seemed rushed after she agreed to date him. I actually like the secondary characters better than the main characters. I'm glad I didn't order the other books, because this one was enough for me. I don't feel the need to continue following the stories of the Drace brothers.

The storyline was okay but it sort of drug on and on. Richard was extremely rude and stupid. His comments were often insulting. The love scenes lacked passion and description. I usually like to read series stories but I most likely will not read any other books in this series. This review is my opinion. Please read it for yourself. Happy Reading!!!!
