From Booklist
Jillian Gray goes to Taveuni, Fiji, for work and not play as a representative of a hotel chain scoping out an acquisition of a local resort. The service is lacking, but the accommodations are fine until mysterious accidents plague her, and Jillian starts to believe that someone does not want her to succeed, and that that someone may be Ben Fuller, her former boss. She and Ben are the only African Americans staying there, and he is also interested in buying the resort. Unbeknownst to Jillian, he has lived there since he lost his family in the 9/11 attacks, and he now wants to help the community that helped him by giving the local inhabitants jobs. Jillian and Ben become involved although they are competitors, and tension over the resort threatens their relationship in this lushly tropical romance. Patty Engelmann
