An evening with the KCB live is pure magic and it must be difficult to translate that level of energy and soul to a CD. The KCB not only preserves klezmer music but gives it new life. So the question is: How to perfect perfection? Somehow they did it here. This new CD is slightly more pensive than previous releases yet will still have you lifting your foot off the gas and looking alternately at your mirror and speedometer. This band is technically excellent but that's only part of the story. This music is played with feeling which will come across in your living room and show up in your top 25 iPod list.

I first heard klezmer music at an ethnic festival here in Vermont, and was immediately smitten by it's lively beat and at times humorous lyrics. Your feet want to tap to it, and it puts a smile on ones face. Some tracks are hauntingly beautiful. Nearly all music is a pleasure to me; the music of different ethnicities is very special.
