4.0 out of 5 stars Another Wonderful Read
I enjoyed this novel because the characters seemed real. I didn't fall in love with this novel as fast as I feel in love with "Bliss." However, I still love the book and suggest everyone to read it. You will be suprised by the story, the plot, and many of the scenes captured within the pages.

3.0 out of 5 stars Erotica novel with a good story but not great character development
This is my first time reading the author. I found the idea of the story a really good one and ripe with possibility/potential for great character development. It took me a bit to get into the story--not the smoothest of writing--but it really took off when the two lovers meet and begin to date. Up to that point I thought there was a lot of gratuitous sex and hanging out...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fiona does it AGAIN, April 2, 2007
This review is from: A Taste Of Sin (Paperback)
Fiona Zedde stepped it up a notch with, A Taste of Sin. After reading Bliss I didn't think it was possible. As Desiree "Dez" Nichols lives her life haphazardly with an inheritance left to her by her lesbian aunt; she takes us on a journey filled with wild sex, drugs, friendship and trust, which finally leads her to love. Dez returns home after a 2 year sabbatical spent with a partner that goes against everything she has professed since the age 14, concerning her sexuality. She returns after becoming privy to information concerning her mother's health. Ms. Zedde does a wonderful job weaving the lives of Dez, her family, friends and finally Tori, the woman who steals her heart.

As you travel on this journey of self-discovery with her you realize that even the hardest sistah will eventually succumb to matters of the heart. You enjoy the sensations that her wild nights out with the girls give. You hold your breath as she takes on this illness carried by her mother. You laugh as she and her twin brother take turns lashing out at one another. And, when she comes in contact with love, a love she has never known; you feel every part of it. As she begins to descend down this road filled with unfamiliarity, it is clear that the best is yet to come. I can't wait to read the next novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sinfully Good, March 25, 2007
This review is from: A Taste Of Sin (Paperback)
At the age of fourteen, Desiree "Dez" Nichols didn't just come out the closet, she kicked the door open, forever changing the dynamics of her family. Hit and run, smash and grab, stick and move was Dez's motto, leaving many satisfied women behind. Her friends and family then couldn't be more surprised when she ran off to see the world with her lover...her MALE lover. Every good thing must come to an end and that end comes quickly two years later when lover boy decides to dump a devastated Dez. Still reeling from their break up, her anxieties compound when she gets a phone call from home. Her mom has the big C - ovarian cancer. Dez returns home to be by her mother's side. She gets reacquainted with old friends and meets a new one, her twin brother's best friend, Victoria Jackson. Knowing his sister's reputation and sexual antics, he doesn't want Victoria to be just another conquest, dismissed and forgotten. But the attraction between the two is undeniable.

A Taste of Sin offers readers more than just a taste of Fiona's talent and creativity. Those who enjoyed her debut novel, Bliss, will definitely find delight in her sophomore effort. Brash and sassy yet vulnerable Dez made for an interesting and likeable character. I also liked Dez's group of friends. I'd love to see more written about them, particularly Remi. A character driven plot, titillating sex scenes, raw and well-written, A Taste of Sin is an engrossing and entertaining read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot and Steamy, July 10, 2006
This review is from: A Taste Of Sin (Paperback)
I bought this book because I fell in love with Bliss, her first novel. A Taste Of Sin delivers even more passion, more drama, more lust than the first book. I will definitely keep on reading Fiona Zedde's work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gomorrah has been resurrected..., March 26, 2007
This review is from: A Taste Of Sin (Paperback)
Zedde tells a mesmeric tale of lust set in the backdrop of Miami. I am attracted to erotica in which I can potentially expand my own sexual horizons by learning something new or have a voyeuristic peek into things that I am incapable of experiencing (ie, lesbian relationships).

I read this book wide eyed. Like a young boy who falls upon his fathers nudie magazine collection for the first time as he thumbs through the pages quickly while keeping both ears open and glancing over his shoulder repeatedly hoping that they don't get caught.

Fiona does not give us a...taste...of sin. Ohhh no! She stuffs the reader with a banquet of it. I must say after reading this book I am...very...satisfied. However, although I enjoyed the intensity, passion, and remorseless...sinning...of the women that Ms. Zedde created in this hedonistic tale. I am more impressed with Fiona's writing style. At times her words literally dance on the page with a life of their own.

It's official. I am now a Fiona Zedde fan. Great book. Great writer. Five stars.

I loved Bliss but A Taste of Sin has cemented Ms Zedde's place as a premiere author of lesbian fiction. A Taste of Sin combines erotic story telling with a hint of romantic poetry. Fiona Zedde's work inspires love, romance and sexual freedom. I cannot wait to read more of this talented author's work!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars She did it again!, January 24, 2007
This review is from: A Taste Of Sin (Paperback)
A lot of writers can't live up to the success of their first novel. This is no problem for Zedde. She is a talented story teller that has mastered the art of keeping her audience captivated.

Is it wrong to say this book made me blush? Vivid images of erotic play danced through my head for days after I finished this novel and there are still a few scenes I can very easily recall.

This book is one of a kind.

4.0 out of 5 stars A True Page Turner, July 31, 2006
This review is from: A Taste Of Sin (Paperback)
I must say my expectations were very high after reading Bliss. I'm happy to report I was not let down. The book was awesome. Fiona wasn't scared to go places other writers wouldn't. She explored that underground world that most of us dream about or would like to explore but are to shy to try or even admit it. Great book, well written the only thing I would have like to see added would have been a few more chapters to show how the relationship progressed before getting to the commitment stage.
