"One Taste" by Allison Hobbs is a five star must read! This book might have been a quickie but, but it has a the BANG of all full length novel!
Regina & Matt Wheeler have been married for 20 years. Their sex life is worse than bad. It is nonexisitent. Poor Matt is working with a mini and he can't seem to get his soldier to stand at attention. Regina is fed up and turns to toys to satisfy her needs. It's a shame when a woman has to rely on a toy instead of her man!! But Regina may soon have some flesh to satisfy 20 years worth of needs...
Meanwhile Matt owns and operates a commercial cleaning business for recovering addicts and employs Cochise, Onika, Mr Faison and Theo. Matt is having a sordid affair with one of his employees.
Matt & Regina's relationship is in danger and Matt adds fuel to the fire by having an affair with a recovering crackhead. How far will Matt go to satisfy his unusal and perverted needs? Will one taste of honey be enough or does he want the whole beehive? And what will it end up costing Matt?
This book is filled with lots of humor (Puddin and the mayonaise lol), hot sex (Cochise and his $5 footlong!) and foolishness (Matt and Onika) but it is enought to keep you turning the pages!! Great job Allison!!

Ok, you know how good a "quickie" feels? That certain look you get from your partner? That certain feeling you get when you see them as you walk into a room? That unnoticed, but extremely obvious change in how you breathe? If the world was to end all you would remember were those 5 minutes of pure bliss? Now imagine that times five. That's how I felt while I was reading this book. I'm a huge fan of Allison and when I heard that she was putting out a "quickie" book I thought it was a book of short, sexy stories. A collection of short stories this wasn't but a short, sexy story IT WAS!! Allison's regular length books are some insanely good stories and she manages to fit all that into a book that is less than 185 pages.

For the life of me I don't know (and probably don't WANT to know) where she comes up with these characters! This was another one of those stories where you want to reach in the book and pummel these people. Matt is a mess. A complete, total, no-holds-barred, make no mistake, non-stroking, punk-of-a-man, mess!! Onika is so bad that I think Satan must have dropped her off at one of those fire stations in Nebraska so he wouldn't have to deal with her. These two will have you reading this book with your jaw wide open because you will not be able wrap your mind around their relationship.

Since this is an Allison Hobbs book you can expect the sex to be hot, graphic, dysfunctional, and over the top! Puddin will... well you just gotta read about this sister... but do so on an empty stomach! :-) Cochise will either make you salivate or make you jealous. You'll feel sorry for Regina, and Matt? Matt, Matt, Matt... if you have to buy this book twice because you've ripped the first one into shreds in disgust... it will be because of Matt. This is a great read full of drama, unbelievable situations, ridiculous characters, mouth-watering sex, pain, sacrificed lust, and desire. The quote on the back of the book by Zane could not be more clear or more true.

Matt and Regina is the married couple who've endured a personal loss. Each blames themselves as well as the other but instead of getting help they just push this issue to the back of the closet. Their love life is another issue that Matt would rather leave in the closet. Matt has the too short and too quick problem but refuses to take Regina's advice and get help. Regina, feeling unloved and frustrated turns to battery operated toys. Meanwhile the embarrassed Matt seeks comfort in a younger woman, his employee Onika.

Ms. Hobbs gives us a fly on the wall view of a dysfunctional twenty year marriage that has been simmering below a volcano surface. Get a read of what happens when one taste turns into an addiction, that is about to get hot like lava and erupt into epic proportions leaving one couple's marriage in shambles.

I'd like to thank Zane for creating the "Strebor Quickiez". I managed to fit this personal reading choice into my heavy reviewing obligations without missing a beat.
When I saw the cover for this story by Allison Hobbs, I smiled knowing Allison gets sinfully wicked when she writes a story!
I'm happy to say we get the full wrath of author Allison Hobbs' insanely stimulating erotic tale, in this sexy Strebor Quickiez that's designed to be a quick read but still packs the punch of a full length novel!

I wanted to beat Onika so bad and come to think of it Matt too...he is a complete punk!!!!
A note to the "Regina's" out there, don't hide those toys from your "Matt" play with them together, he may get a rise out that...wink, wink.

One Taste is a deliciously erotic novella by Allison Hobbs. Hobbs once again pulls the reader into this story from the very first page. You feel the sexual and emotional frustration of Regina as she deals with Matt's indifference and a long ago tragedy that still haunts her. Some of Matt's actions are so appalling that you will be literally shaking your head. Of course, this story wouldn't complete without some sizzling erotic elements but there should have been a little more of them. One Taste is a spicy and quick read that you will be able to finish reading in a few hours. This is a good edition to the Strebor Quickiez collection.

Regina Wheeler married her high school sweetheart and has been the devoted, faithful wife for twenty-years. Twenty-years minus the love and devotion she has given him. She is sexually unfullfilled and will do anything short of cheating on her husband to get that sexual rush she craves and needs.

Matt, thinking that his wife is inattentive, not realizing that she is just sexually frustrated, refuses to get help for his problem. Instead he turns to a younger woman and begins an affair with her, that leaves him with more than he bargained for.

With each turn of the page you will be stunned when you see how much an affair can cost Matt's marriage and possibly his life. When it all comes to a head, he will be questioning: was it worth it?

Allison Hobbs, pens a novel, that would make an interesting discussion for bookclubs and groups. This was an excellent read. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick read. Strebor Quickiez was an great idea and I plan on reading each and every one of them.

I would just like to say that Ms. Hobbs has out done herself once again. When I received "One Taste" on Tuesday, February 10th, I decided to read it on the weekend. When I got up on Sunday morning, I picked up "One Taste and I could not put it down. It was truly exciting and a quick read. Page after page I had to keep going to see what was going to happnen next. There is never a dull moment in "One Taste" I liked how all of the characters issues and drama flowed together. Ms. Hobbs knows how to express urban erotica. You keep writing Ms. Hobbs and I will keep reading.

Ummm, I'm sorry to say I thought this book was just "alright". It was well written and it made a lot of sense. I sincerely appreciate the work and dedicate the author put into book however it was simply predictable. I purchased the book because it was mention in one of Zane's book (one of her characters was reading it) so I was expecting it to be a little more erotic. I can get over the erotic let down if the storyline wasn't so safe. I wish the writer would have taken a little more risk and made the storyline a bit edgier.

This book was horrible,I finished it b/c I paid for it. To those Who gave this book more than 1 star are friends of the Author. I did hear that's what Author's did, have their friends write excellent reviews to entice people to buy, Got me.. Borrow the book, even then it's not worth it. My opinion

I don't know what to say about that darn Allison Hobbs. She knows she is some kind of crazy to come up with the characters in her books. I gotta give her her props though, because she keeps me reading with her off the wall people. Matt and Onika were both too funny. I laughed so hard at the antics of those two. Keep pumping them out, Ms Hobbs, and I'll keep reading.

I enjoyed this book and the characters. Poor little Matt had me cracking up and I pray I will never meet someone like him. I wouldn't mind meeting someone like Cochise, he had it going on!!!! Get the book and you will know what I am talking about.
