Tasty Bite farm

Every pack of Tasty Bite began its long journey at our farm in India. Farm-fresh, hand-picked and expertly prepared by our fine chefs, each meal represents the delightful flavors and variety of Indian and pan-Asian cuisine. Launched in 1995, the Tasty Bite flavors range from classic restaurant favorites such as a Channa Masala to unique fusion items such as the Tofu Corn Masala. Our products require no cooking, have no preservatives, require no refrigeration and, as our brand suggests, taste phenomenal. You can take our products for lunch at work, use them as a side or main dish for dinner, or take them on the road while camping. They will be sure to spice up your meal, as the recipe options are limitless. You can use our Madras Lentils as a taco base, our Punjab Eggplant as a pasta sauce or use our Meal Inspirations as a salad topper. Of course, you can always just eat them straight out of the pouch.

With the use of a uniquely designed multi-layer retort pouch, Tasty Bite products remain fresh for 18 months. During the manufacturing process, food is filled into these pouches, after which they are sealed and cooked to a finish in a retort oven under high temperature and pressure. The sealing and construction of the pouch ensures that no bacteria or other degrading factors can impact the food – it is sterilized inside the pouch. This process also ensures a high retention of the food’s original aroma, texture, nutrients and flavor. What’s more, our pouches are free of BPA.

Tasty, but too watery.

If you don't like Indian food, don't worry, this is not spiced like those.
Trigger
The cheese had a rubbery texture and was ... squeaky when I chewed it.

Quite possibly my favorite way to eat spinach. Simple but classically aromatic blend of spices. Not hot at all, if you are looking for more heat then I would suggest the MTR Palak Paneer. What differentiates Tasty Bite from others that I have tried is the lack of milk/cream in the sauce itself. For me, this accentuates the spinach flavor and I prefer the taste to creamed versions I have tried. Of the Tasty Bite line, I always try to keep Kashmir Spinach, Aloo Palak, Bengal Lentils, and Madras Lentils stocked in my kitchen cabinet.

I really couldn't say more about this product. Like the old Miller Lite adds, "Its tastes great, and is less filling!" I love these things because when I want a quick meal, these are awesome and really good for you. I am not a vegan, infact I am so much a carnivore I worry about not getting enough vegetables and vitamins. I throw out tons of bagged salads and other veggies that simply go bad. These stay good on the shelf forever, are ready to eat in 90 seconds, cost less than running to a fast food place, and its really healthy.

Flavor: Adequate amount of salt for my palate, but I felt the true taste of Indian cuisine (compared to food served at Indian restaurants I've gone to) was missing.

Texture: VERY watery as an independent dish; I mixed with Quinoa. The paneer appeared wilted and unappetizing and disappointed me more than the spinach did.

Overall opinion of product: Wouldn't order again.

It does not look good but people are surprised that they like it. It has a slight bitter taste like cooked Kale but not nearly as strong. The cheese in it is very good. My kids turned their nose at it but now they look forward to it. If you don't like Indian food, don't worry, this is not spiced like those.

I love Saag Paneer, so naturally I had no qualms about ordering the Kashmir Spinach flavor of Tasty Bite as a 6-pack. The quality of this is closer to restaurant quality than the microwaveable rice-and-entree stuff that they sell on campus at my University.
One minor complaint, though: when prepared in boiling water, instead of in the microwave, the spinach is a bit watery. So, if you're planning to heat it that way, you may want to drain off a little bit of the water before adding rice or dipping bread / corn chips in it.
... And if there's a place near you that sells this stuff, chances are it's cheaper there than on Amazon (at least for this particular flavor -- the other flavors seem to be more comparably priced). I recently restocked with 10 packets of this stuff, in a variety of flavors for about the same price as this 6-pack, because Tasty Bite happened to be on sale at my small, local grocer this week.

This is a great, easy side dish to keep on hand in the pantry. We make it with the Basmati Rice that Tasty Bite sells. Let's be honest- it's not as good as going to our local Indian restaurant, but it's a nice option for at home. Another good thing about it- it's VERY mild, so if you have a sensitive palette or have kids who are picky eaters, this is an option.

I am a huge fan of Palak Paneer. I purchased a package of this at the grocery store, mostly because making Palak Paneer from scratch is a real commitment (even though it is amazingly delicious homemade). This packaged version was HORRID. The cheese SQUEEKED on my teeth, it was so rubbery. Yes, SQUEEKED. It sounded like I was chewing on a balloon. I picked it all out and threw it in the trash. The spinach sauce was watery and lacked the spices that make palak paneer special, but at least I could eat it over my rice. Thank goodness I didn't order a multipack online before finding out how horrible this was. I probably wouldn't have even felt right about donating it to the food pantry....

It may not be the most eye-appealing food, but it is SO good. Has a slightly spicy kick to it. Very easy to prepare.
