My 12 mo old is not very interested in food at all. We've tried so many different things, and decided to try tastybaby as a possible option. The little one really loves all of the flavors, they are interesting mixes that keep him interested (vs typical bland baby food which he rejects). We have tried all of the flavors in this variety pack and they are all delicious, making this the first time I actually wanted a second bite of baby food. Baby's faves are bangos, sweetie pie, and peaches. I feel good about feeding my child food that is healthy, easy, and fresh. Spendy? Yes. Worth it? I say yes.

That aside, the warm fuzzy feeling you might get from buying organic, sustainable produce is completely destroyed by the styrofoam behemoth that arrives on your doorstep, complete with foam packing peanuts and double boxes. sigh.

5.0 out of 5 stars Family Favorite!, October 29, 2008
This review is from: Tastybaby Starter Case (Corn in the USA, Peas on Earth, Life's a Peach, Sweetie Pie, Hip 2B Pear & Bangos), 10.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I ordered the Bangos flavor a few weeks ago (which my son went absolutely crazy for) and decided to try a few more flavors from Tasty Baby - the variety pack was a great way to be able to try several of them without having to buy a whole case of each one.

I am happy to report that they were all a huge hit! My son is usually pretty picky about his food but he gobbled these down and wanted more. I even caught my wife and older daughter eating the Peach flavor late one night as a dessert! It tastes so fresh - so much better than the gross, watered-down jarred food we used to buy. Never again will I buy baby food for my son that I wouldn't be comfortable eating myself. We are all officially hooked...

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the way to go- perfect starter kit, November 4, 2008
This review is from: Tastybaby Starter Case (Corn in the USA, Peas on Earth, Life's a Peach, Sweetie Pie, Hip 2B Pear & Bangos), 10.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
My daughter loves fruits- this was the perfect starter kit! The Hip 2B Pear, Bangos, and Sweetie Pie are her favorites.

I didn't have a problem with shipping and thought it was priced well for the number of containers of organic purees. I didn't expect to pay "Gerber" prices. Love Tastybaby!

My son is a VERY picky eater and has lots of allergies to boot, we had no luck with traditional jarred, shelf stable baby foods. I was more successful making my own baby food and freezing it but there were weeks when I just didn't have time to do so. Tasty Baby was a great alternative and my son LOVES it. I also tried HappyBellies with great success. I was disappointed with Plums as their product was a little inconsistent.

Great For:
-picky eaters
-kids with allergies(they each contain minimal ingredients)
-moms who are going to serve fresh fruits and veggies to their kids in the future vs. canned veggies
-moms who make their own baby food (the containers easily wash in the top rack of a dish washer and are a perfect serving size)
-moms who want to fortify their recipes with purees

3.0 out of 5 stars Better prices elsewhere, March 5, 2010

Our daughter really likes Tasty Baby. "Bangos" and "Life's a Peach" are her favorites. I've contacted the company with questions and found employees there to be extremely receptive, prompt, and courteous. I'm OK with the frozen part because it holds up even if you throw a container in the diaper bag for a while. Daddy HATES the packaging, because the flavor is only printed in small letters on the rim of the cap; even if it's sitting in the fridge, he doesn't feed it to her because he says he's not sure what it is. The main point of this review is to warn potential buyers about price. I can buy a 3-pack (10.5 oz. box) of Tasty Baby at my local, Midwestern Super Target for $3.99, regular price, plus there are usually $1 off coupons on the packages (still, I think that's a lot to pay for baby food!) As of this writing, Amazon's price is about 40% higher.

I bought these when they were on sale a few months ago. I think this is as close as you can get to pureeing your own organic fruits and veggies without having to do the actual work. Are they more expensive that jarred organic baby food? Yes. Does it taste better? In my opinion, yes. The ingredient list for Tastybaby: Pears. The ingredient list for Earth's Best jars: Pears, ascorbic acid. The ascorbic acid that is in pretty much every jarred fruit leaves a slightly tangy aftertaste if you compare side by side with fresh (have you ever tasted any brand of jarred bananas? Yuck!). I steamed and pureed an organic pear for my second child's first solids - but knowing that I also have a three year old it's not likely I'll be doing that for every meal.

Who am I kidding - I may never do that again!! :) This is an excellent alternative. I would buy this again because it is organic and as close to "all natural" as possible. I figure the added cost over how short of a time span babies are eating this kind of food is worth the extra money.

After reading all the good reviews, we decided to give Tasty Baby a try ...we were not disappointed! My son can't get enough (his favorites are Sweetie Pie and Mama Mia) and even my picky 8yr old daughter likes them. I started putting them into her school lunch and they are defrosted by lunch time! She loves the Peach and Bangos. Great product!

3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work for my baby, July 5, 2009

I tried this product based on the previous reviews. My baby is very picky about what she eats and I'm always looking for new things she might like. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. She refuses these just like any other baby food. She pretty much only wants to eat "adult" food - foods that my husband and I eat and this was no exception.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not worth the price, May 25, 2009
This review is from: Tastybaby Starter Case (Corn in the USA, Peas on Earth, Life's a Peach, Sweetie Pie, Hip 2B Pear & Bangos), 10.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I was very happy to find this item for my 6 month old since it's organic and fresh, the taste is good, the peach flavor was a little too sour for my baby. Downsides: You have to microwave the container to thaw in 30 second increments so the first couple of times it's hard to get the temperature just right... other options is to thaw it in the fridge overnight (but you still have to warm it up in the micro)or to use hot water (too time consuming)... Overall, it's a good product but requires much more effort than just opening a jar of baby food, and the taste is not that different.

When I fed my baby those jar foods from the store shelves, he would usually eat half of it, then just looked away. When I fed him Tasty baby ones, he just opened his mouth and finished every bite of it. the content of the food is really condensed and they smell so good! On top of that, they are organic. I am so happy that I purchsed these at Amazon.com and I am going to place my second order now.
