TATIANA THE QUEEN,
By
This review is from: Tatiana: Solo Lo Mejor 20 Exitos (Audio CD)

Finally, Tatiana's 80's teen pop on CD!,
By Rob Ez (Chicago) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tatiana: Solo Lo Mejor 20 Exitos (Audio CD)
Tatiana was never the better vocalist of the troupe of young performers of the 80's that she emerged from, but she certainly delivered some of the catchiest songs. It is great to FINALLY see these songs on CD after a long time of EMI artist compilations being released and no Tatiana. Her voice sounds very thin, but charming. Some of the catchiest and fun songs on this CD is her 80's girl power anthem "Chicas De Hoy" the mega-catchy rock confection "Peligro En El Elevador" and her fun cover of Simon says on "Baila Conmigo" (where the line "una vez al mes viene, de vez en cuando dejate llevar" was blunt advice for "becoming" girls and their natural adolescent changes., hee hee. Even though It's nice to see these songs, this collection is missing MANY key songs of Tatiana's pop career! The most obvious example is her monster hit duet with Johnny Lozada (of Menudo) from 1986 called "Cuando Estemos Juntos", that to this day, is played on the radio! WHY it was not included is beyond me! Also, "Lobo En La Noche" from 1988 is totally missing. Int he long-run, I'm sure more Tatiana material shall be released, so pick up this CD, relax and enjoy this inoffensive ride thru teen bliss.
