Use #7 fine for crochet cotton sizes 50 40 30 and 20 and pearl cotton sizes 12 and 8. use #5-0 for crochet cotton size 20 and 10 and pearl cotton size 5. Tatting a dieing art that is much easier now!,

I've always loved lace making, but couldn't go portable with bobbin lace. I hated shuttle tatting the threads constantly tangled and my hands cramped horribly! When I tried the needles and needle tatting I fell in love! I can carry the spool and needles everywhere! With a little practice all tatting patterns have been able to be done with the needle, whereas not all needle patterns can be done with a shuttle.

Shuttle tatting was always beyond my abitlity, but Needle Tatting is just right! sort of like crocheting with a needle, once you learn the 2 basic stitches you can create a wide variety of decorative items.
