Critics forgot to mention "Why Should I Fall in Love",

Yes, "Muddy Water" is great on this album, but the second half includes a rendition of "Why Should I Fall in Love?" that Neville performs to perfection. In fact, his version surpasses the original.

This album is a 'Science Of Relaxation' that contains many various steps of music. Most listeners can touch the rhythm of softness from 'SOME DAYS ARE MADE FOR RAIN' and obtain the warmhearted feel from 'EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE' and many feels getting from its another songs...

Beautiful all the way around,

Very few people were blessed with a voice like Aaron Neville's. I could probably listen to him singing a Denny's menu and be happy, but I like it best when he chooses songs with some serious emotion behind them. He's got several here from the opening "Rain Song" to the closing standard, "Crying in the Chapel." In between, there's "Muddy Waters" and a wonderful cover of Ray Price's "For the Good times." Overall, very well done.

Aaron Neville has a voice like few artists in his category. This CD kicks you right into a happy mood with Track 1 Can`t stop my heart from loving you (The Rain Song) and hold you with a soulgrip all trough the CD, with some minor letdown`s, which doesn`t give this a 5 star. Track 3 Everyday of My Life is anyway a very sensitive song with the soulshivering voice that is Aaron Neville`s trademark.
There are also a complete different tour on this one with the bluesy Track 4 Down Into Muddy Water. Outstanding listen. But the ballads. Oh the ballads. That`s what doing this CD. Neville does`nt have to say more that a couple of humming and the voice touches you. There are very much description of rain , sunshine, and thunder in the songwriting on this one,but isn`t that much of the changin moods that our`e everyday life got alltrough the night and day ? Track 10 Use Me is a style break, and the weakest track. Booring in a way. The last Track 14 Crying in the Chapel is as near heaven and angels than Elvis Presely had done with his version. Anyway this one will tatooed your heart and soul with joy and happiness. Stylish and well polished music and very relaxable to listen to. Very useable as a lullabye or a wake up call from the softside this one.

As usual, Aaron Neville sings his heart out on this CD. Love track 8 the best! Would recommend for your collection if you don't already have it.

I find the music disgusting BUT my wife is enamored with this singer. She plays it often and really likes it.

Arrons music is like an angel singing, his voice doesn't look like it comes from him but it does... He does alot of gospel music and it really hits home.. Would like to get his Christmas CD as well... Well worth the money...

I have always wondered who, and why Aaron Neville, and his producers pick the songs that they do but such is life. That said, Aaron has one of the most beautiful, and powerful male voices in the industry. I was lucky enough to see in him in Florida (Palm Beach Sun fest) shortly after they had released "Yellow Moon". Aaron and the Neville Brothers hit the ball right out of the park, the place was hopping, and it was a wonderful night. This CD is a worthy addition to any fan of the big man with the big mellifluous voice. Although the choice of songs may be a bit uneven, Aaron and orchestra more then deliver. Really enjoyed the upbeat version of Can't Stop My Heart from Loving You, Down into Muddy Water, Use Me, and beautiful ballads, "Some Days are Made for Rain", and "For the Good Times". It's a keeper.

This my 3rd time buying this CD. Over the last 14 years or so, I've worned out two copies already! This is my favorite CD and I must keep a working version at all times.
Wouldn't have mind paying less for it, but you know, it's my favorite CD and it's worth it! |
