Rock N' Roll Still Alive in 2007, December 11, 2007
This review is from: Tattooed Hearts & Broken Promisses (Audio CD)
Every Rock N' Roll fans need to immediately hear this brilliant works by Death & Taxes, formed primarily by ex-members from the legendary Boston band The Bruisers. Musically, this CD offers a great extension of what the Bruisers left off, or more specifically a more sophisticated representation of classics like "Gates of Hell." Actually, there exists one song in this CD that was now fully rejuvenated; "Better Days." A new version of "Better Days" is just amazing, and fits extremely well with the album, particularly placing it between two great songs "For The Money" and "Green River." After "Green River," you are thrilled to hear a track 9 "Love Letters On Skin," which is definitely my favorite.
"Love Letters on Skin" starts off with "Rock N' Roll in your face" styled drum n' bass, followed by massive guitar works, which is just as mind-blowing as any solos by Slash (of Guns N' Roses, but not of "VR").
In addition, the singer has managed very well to accommodate his range of voice with band instrumentation, which is actually key for making the CD outstanding. Indeed, there exists a high degree of professionalism with respect to the composition of music within this CD.
Finally, I assume that this CD would be a perfect opportunity for people who wonder what you need to give to your family or friends as a holiday gift, given that the release is on December 2007 (I actually bought 5, expecting the holiday bashes). If you like the recent bands like Guns N' Roses, New York Dolls, Sinners and Saints (Boston), Hudson Falcons, and not to mention the Bruisers, you will be no doubt ensured the presence of this CD at your stereo in a few days, along with some beers, I guess.
Rock N' Roll in 2007,,,Thanks for the great music.
