Absolutely Wonderful, November 8, 2003
This review is from: The Tattooed Wolf (Paperback)
For any future printings of the book, I think that a label should be included somewhere on the cover: "Warning! Contents Highly Addictive. Do not begin to read this book if you have more pressing matters to attend to!" I say this because I found that I simply could not bring myself to put this novel down, and as a result I lost a lot of sleep!
I thought that this novel was completely and utterly awesome. The writing itself is great, and the story was even better. The author kept me emotionally engrossed throughout the whole thing, and I found that I could really relate to the main character, Dan Sullivan. I shared his supreme agitation, I fell in love, and I wanted to kill his wife so badly that I unintentionally creased the back cover with the frustration of it! K. Bannerman played me like a violin, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I wouldn't say that it was perfect, though. On several (maybe around 7-10) occasions throughout the book, I noticed some blatant grammatical errors that looked like they could have been easily fixed with a more thorough edit (I'm told these will be fixed with a second printing). In addition to that, there were a couple places that were somewhat confusing as to who was talking about whom at what point in time. However, niether of these things greatly affected my understanding or enjoyment of the story, so they're not overly critical.
This was the most enjoyable novel I've read in a long time, and if a sequel was written, I would buy it in a heartbeat!

A refreshing West Coast Werewolf tale, November 30, 2004
This review is from: The Tattooed Wolf (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book. K. Bannerman's spin on the werewolf mythology makes her characters real, and, ahem, human. I've read a lot of werewolf stories, but never one where I rooted for the wolf quite so thoroughly.
Also, as a reader on the west coast of British Columbia, I appreciated the story's sense of place.
I hope there's a sequel.

R Pigott, November 12, 2003
This review is from: The Tattooed Wolf (Paperback)
Having read other works of Ms Bannerman and been pleased with my findings I thought I would give this one a try - although I must admit a story of a werewolf had little appeal. I was amazed that this not your typical science fiction book by any means. It is a well written character study on human nature - a book I found hard to put down. It was intriguing, suspenseful, blended with a dash of romance - a book where you as the reader become involved with the characters. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good story where it is difficult to outguess the author.
