4.0 out of 5 stars Great for beginners, February 28, 2003

This review is from: Tattooing A to Z: A Guide to Successful Tattooing/Guide to Sterile Tattooing Techniques (Hardcover)
...--This book is geared to the beginner that has no expierance in Tattooing. It gives a lot of information that would otherwise take you a while to figure out. However a book does not take the place of a good insructor, find someone who is willing to give you hands on expieriance in the art of Tattooing. Also if you have been Tattooing for a while, and never had any real or formal training, you will find this book very helpful. But remember Tattooing is Medic-classified as Minor Skin Surgery, and you can really hurt somone if it is done incorrectly. Check out moderntattooscience.com for some info on tattooing.

This review is from: Tattooing A to Z: A Guide to Successful Tattooing/Guide to Sterile Tattooing Techniques (Hardcover)
Great book! Tons of info for tattoo newbies and proffesional artists alike but WAY over priced. Why pay so much for a used book when you can buy the book directly from the Huck Spaulding site for 45$ BRAND NEW!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you are even considering doing a tattoo, get this book., July 18, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Tattooing A to Z: A Guide to Successful Tattooing/Guide to Sterile Tattooing Techniques (Hardcover)
This is a comprehensive guide to doing tattoos, written by a legend in the business. I did my first tattoo in 1986, and it was terrible! I figured out how to do it on my own and the results confirmed that. To do a good tattoo, you must have a good base of knowledge on the subject. You must know about the equipment, about sterilization, and technique. It is difficult to learn the right way on your own. There are literally hundreds of little secrets revealed in this book that you just aren't going to find anywhere else. It's not as if you can just go down to the shop on the corner and say "Excuse me, but I would like to become a tattoo artist". You can try, but I have actually been laughed at on more than one occasion for similar words. Usually, to become a tattoo artist, you must apprentice to a shop owner, "pay your dues", and spend a lot of time doing everything but tattoos. This book will really save a lot of floor sweeping.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear,Concise,Detailed, and very informative, July 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Tattooing A to Z: A Guide to Successful Tattooing/Guide to Sterile Tattooing Techniques (Hardcover)
This is a must for new and old artists. Very detailed with a lot of illustrations and doesn't leave many questions in your mind-very thorough. The only two questions I had after reading were: Can you use grapefruit to practice tattooing on? Can you use alternative power supplies such as model train transformers? But the publishers being retailers of equipment might not want to suggest that or endorse using fruit to practice on. Great Book that covers every aspect of tattooing!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars very creative and artistic, February 18, 1999

This review is from: Tattooing A to Z: A Guide to Successful Tattooing/Guide to Sterile Tattooing Techniques (Hardcover)
Dear sir,

All the artwork really amaze me!

I am a designer for label artwork. I am wondering if the books of those authors have copy right for their own designs. Or, does Huck Spaulding owns it?

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Regards,

Teresa Tsai
