Book Description

November 12, 2007
Amateur astronomer George Abooli encounters friendly aliens and goes on an interstellar journey to their home planet in the Tau Ceti system. He becomes assimilated into their society, which is peaceful and respects the environment, and works with them toward preparing for formal contact with the humans. This involves a series of trips back and forth between both planets. But trouble develops on Earth with the rise of an evil Middle East dictator who steps up terrorist attacks in the United States, already weakened by natural disasters and a collapsed economy. The ultimate battle breaks out in 2012 with the threat of a nuclear holocaust, and the aliens are America's only hope. When George persuades them to make an exception to their policy of non-intrusion, it appears he has saved humanity. However, the outcome is still not assured, as the dictator has a plan of his own.

Editorial Reviews

Review

I highly recommend this book, and in fact, I think it would make an excellent movie. For one thing, it differs from most sci-fi stories, which depict aliens as hostile. Instead of us fighting aliens, the aliens become our allies against the threat of terrorism on Earth. The story shows how friendship can develop between humans and aliens, and it shows how the aliens developed a society with very few social problems, thus, setting an example for us to follow. There is an important message for us; the long-term survival of a civilization, such as ours, depends on people loving and respecting one another, living in harmony with the environment, and using advanced technology only for beneficial purposes. Not only is there a message, but I found the story to be very interesting - especially getting a look at what it might be like on another world with many similarities to our own. This book is written clearly and is a good read. I think Star Trek fans will enjoy it. And one final comment. While much of what is described is science fiction, it is nevertheless, quite plausible in reality, at least in the future. -- Gisela Halbasch, Antioch, California

This book permitted me to believe that there are other civilizations outside our planetary system. We're not alone. Let's open our eyes and listen to our planetary friends in the cosmos. If you love adventure, romance, a human touch to science fiction, this is the book that you will enjoy tremendously. I couldn't put it aside and read it until I reached the last page of the book in the late night. Couldn't sleep without knowing the ending of the story. -- Eva J. Meloche, Ottawa, Canada

From the Author

This book is a revised edition with an updated story. There is a bit of romance, suspense, plenty of adventure, and lots of social commentary. It is the first of a series, with sequels to follow. I have also written a screenplay based on the book and plan to have a movie made.
