This review is from: In the Tavern of Ruin: Seven Essays on Sufism (Paperback)
i have great respect for the author of this book. "in the tavern of ruin" is an outstanding introductory resource for individuals who wish to know a bit more about sufism. this brilliant master provides entertaining stories, some humorous and some quite serious, that provide the reader with a picture of the overarching canopy. i've never understood the political schisms within islam, thus, i don't wish to offend anyone who might be offended by my own positive reporting on this book. however, as a novice, i find the man and his writings truly delightful! i highly recommend this for anyone with a real interest in understanding the basics of sufism, as well as for anyone who just wishes to read this master's works. i give this book a solid "A".
