Book Description

In this brief, in-depth essay, former Speaker of the House and 2012 Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich examines whether President Obama has been honest with the American people about the tax at the heart of Obamacare. Gingrich considers what President Obama told the public when he was trying to pass the health care bill and contrasts it with the arguments his administration made before the Supreme Court to defend the law. He then reveals the stunning claims made by President Obama and his allies since the Supreme Court ruling – asking whether an American president has the power to rewrite history and alter forever the bond between the people and their elected representatives.

Gingrich follows his essay with three appendices cataloging statements made by President Obama, his lawyers, his staffers and surrogates about the ObamaTax. You can see the “evolution” of the Obama position play out in their own words. This book and its appendices are an invaluable resource for anyone who wants to understand the best case against the President this fall.

5.0 out of 5 stars Newt Strikes Back Against Obamacare's Dishonesty July 20, 2012
Newt Gingrich continues his no-holds-barred assault on the greatest scam in American political history. Obamacare is the largest tax increase in history and Newt reveals how the Obama White House deceptively pushed it adoption on the American people.
In his latest book, conveniently on Kindle, Newt uses historical context and Obama's own contradictory words to show how Obama and his team argued his mandate is a tax, isn't a tax, is a tax --- whenever it suits the White House's big government agenda. With the Supreme Court's recent ruling as background, it is clear that the Affordable Care Act can only be repealed if conservatives and independents wake up to the deception and tell their lawmakers to act.
For those with short memories, Newt reminds both the media and voters how Obama opposed the mandate before he imposed it. Obama promised no tax increases on those under $250,000 in income and now seeks to hit the working poor with a tax for failing to buy a government-mandated product.
Tanning, medical devices and drugs, insurance companies and a litany of others will pay for the unworkable scheme. HHS has already declared the CLASS Act a failure, now we must wait for the rest of the scheme to prove as ill-conceived.

Newt does what so many GOP and conservative lawmakers have failed to do -- show why Obamacare is an insidious and job-killing lie.

For those who appreciate cogent and concise argument, and want a neat legal understanding of how Obama 'won' the mandate case based on a lie -- this is a must read. I highly recommend you order this for your Kindle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Obama is based on lies October 28, 2012
Verified Purchase
Newt has clearly and concisely laid out Obama's tales of deceit, misrepresentation and lies to further his agenda. All of his presidency has been base don lie: His initial campaign and failure to explain his relationship with Rev Wright; Obamacare as a tax; Arab Spring, Abortion, and now Benghazi. Well written, fluid and easy to get through.

4.0 out of 5 stars well written and insightful August 24, 2012
As usual Newt G has written a well thought out and intelligent look at the obamacare tax/fee. The title ties to the tea party, but the book transcends mere 'conservative' opinion and delves into the biggest central issue regarding the obamacare plan; how president obama circumvented the american legislative process to provide the largest tax increase in history while never saying it is a tax. Gingrich also shows how the most likely scenario if obamacare is actually implemented is an increase in the number of uninsured americans because the poor will have coverage (paid for by the taxes of the non poor) but those that don't qualify for the govt assistance to pay for the insurance but are not high income families will choose the fine instead of paying the high mandate each year. A good read whether you like obamacare or not.
