This review is from: Federal Income Taxation of Partners and Partnerships in a Nutshell (Nutshell Series) (Paperback)
This book was recommended to me by a friend who had them. It condensed the 1500 page official text (mainly all commentary from the authors to an exact 400 page description of the information I needed to learn. It did a very good job and I would recommend it to anyone taking a partnership tax class.

This is a pretty neatly written book. I cannot comment on this from the standpoint of a practicing accountant/attorney or tax preparer. But, if you are a student of a tax program, you probably know or have heard that Partnership Taxation has some of the most complicated stuff you will encounter in tax. This book simplifies a lot of complex concepts with simple examples and is a pretty good review tool. As I was reading through this, things that did not make sense to me originally, started making sense; and things I was very rusty with started coming back to my memory. This is good for review a few weeks before the final and good for facilitating the easy understanding of complex concepts. However, I would not recommend using this as your primary study material for an entire course. This book deserves all the five stars. I would highly recommend that you keep a tab on the edition of the book. Tax laws always change, and remember that we have a new administration here in the U.S.

Just like it sounds... Partnership Tax in a Nutshell,
This review is from: Federal Income Taxation of Partners and Partnerships in a Nutshell (Nutshell Series) (Paperback)
The book is a very good introduction to partnership taxation, especially if you don't have a tax or accounting background. I was liberal arts major, so trust me, it's not too horrible to read, given the subject matter. I think if you have experience in tax and/or accounting, Logic of SubChapter K might be more suited to your needs. Both are excellent books that enable a normal person to understand complex partnership tax.

For a non lawyer and starting a partnership, this book was great for me to start to get the tax aspect understanding. The book constantly references the statutes which is good for me so I can cross reference.
