Overview: Speed freak taxi driver Daniel along with the only cop in France he likes, the bumbling Emilien, are back for more misadventure in this sequel to the highly entertaining and highly successful French action film, Taxi. The movie opens up with Daniel taking a slight detour through a rally on the way to drop off a customer and her husband at the hospital. Oh yeah, the customer just happens to be giving birth. This is just an indication of the crazy stuff that goes on in Taxi 2. This time around, the Japanese ambassador is visiting Marseilles to view the city police's anti-terrorist tactics. During the visit, however, he is kidnapped by a group working for the Japanese yakuza. Young officer Emilien is determined to rescue the ambassador and officer Petra (his girlfriend), who was also kidnapped, and restore the honor of his department. Once again, speed demon taxi-driver Daniel (from the first Taxi movie) is called upon to save the day with his high-speed driving skills. Tsuyu plays a Japanese spy who is trailing Daniel throughout the film. Concurrently, she is shooting a television series for the French TF1 network, in which she plays an undercover cop with a mean karate kick. Plenty of cool car chases, action and martial arts keep the movie pace fast and interesting.
