Book Description

June 15, 2010
In living rooms across America, citizens are struggling to pay their taxes and also struggling to believe that the same congressmen they elected on promises of not increasing those taxes are not planning to do just the opposite. Sally Jefferson is one of those Americans, but she’s not just going to mouth off to her coworkers about how tough it is. She and her friends are going to DO something about it this time, and prove that democracy still works in the process.

Taxpayers’ Tea Party is more than a manual for political revenge; it’s step-by-step guide in cartoon form to carry out our own American Revolution.

5.0 out of 5 stars Influencing Politicians, July 3, 2010
By
Bill Jordin (Smyrna, GA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Taxpayers' Tea Party: How to Become Politically Active--and Why (Paperback)
Taxpayers' Tea Party (2010) is the second edition of a handbook on becoming politically active. The original edition was published in 1994 with an introduction by Rush Limbaugh, but this version updates the information and adds another introduction by Newt Gingrich.

The objective of this handbook is to provide conservative voters with information necessary to influence government policy and to defeat politicians at the polls. The original edition was directed against the Clintons, with special emphasis on their healthcare proposals. This edition covers more areas, but pays special attention to Obamacare.

The first part of the book is a series of political cartoons directed against the liberal president and congress. They start with a taxpayer shouting at his TV in objection to the takeover of another private business. Then they cover everything from healthcare to joint action.

The second part presents a revised version of the original text. The author explains why she started working against Clinton's healthcare plan and the things she has learned. She has since become a state representative in the Georgia legislature.

The last part provides lists, tables and other data relevant to the 2010 election. It includes names, districts (if appropriate), states, direct phone numbers, fax numbers, and email addresses of every US Senator and Representative as of the date of publication. It also lists vulnerable Democrats and other helpful information.

This handbook tells you how to make your voice and vote count. Like Heinlein's Take Back Your Government, this handbook provides practical examples and methods for political activism. It even includes ways of using social networking sites for political activism.

Buy this book, read it, and give other copies to your friends. Help spread the word. If you are not already, register to vote and cast your ballot in November.

Highly recommended for conservative voters and anyone else who wants to reverse this country's march toward socialism.

-Bill Jordin

5.0 out of 5 stars Tea Party Instructional, September 5, 2010
This review is from: Taxpayers' Tea Party: How to Become Politically Active--and Why (Paperback)
I found this book very informative and inspirational. An easy read and something you can keep at your desk for
reference in your political journey as a Tea Party Activist. I'm not much for cartoons so I skipped to the meat
of the book and saved the toons for later. The book provides you with all the tools you need to become active
in local politics. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars A new version of a 1994 classic book written by one of the originators of the tea party concept, June 9, 2010
This review is from: Taxpayers' Tea Party: How to Become Politically Active--and Why (Paperback)
The first edition of Taxpayers Tea Party came out in 1994. Sharon Cooper and Newt Gingrich actually came up with the Tea Party concept. On April 15, 1994 both Gingrich and Cooper went to Boston and had a reenactment of the original Boston tea party. This present 2010 edition gives a step by step method to help elect those with conservative ideals and to get rid of the tax and spend liberals who are bankrupting our economy and our country. Every congressman and senator is listed with full instructions on how to reach them by phone, letters and email. Cooper gives some valuable hints about writing letters and emails in an effective manner. She even gives the protocol for contacting the President, but she warns that he will usually ignore conservative-slanted communications. Her first book was a classic and this one outdoes the 1994 version. Chuck Asay, a political cartoonist also does an excellent job with his art work and the points he makes. This book is a keeper.
