1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money, February 4, 2009
This review is from: Taylor 1526 Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer With Hygrometer & Atomic Clock (Kitchen)
I purchased model #1526 and was barely able to see the display on the receiving unit. I then replaced the batteries with brand new lithium ones with no improvement. I returned the unit to the store where purchased and received a replacement that is also very difficult to see the display. The sending unit display is much clearer and easier to see.

I also lose the temperature reading on the receiving unit when the temperature goes below 15 F despite only being approximately 10ft from the sending unit. Once again, both units have brand new lithium ion batteries. I called Talyor and they were no help at all and said I should just return the unit to where purchased.

1.0 out of 5 stars A complete waste of money, May 11, 2009

I feel stupid having ordered this product after having read the completely accurate reviews written by the previous customers. This item is a piece of junk.

The first time I received the product, the main unit was broken inside the packaging. Amazon was quick and courteous a about sending a replacement item. However, a working model isn't much more useful. The Display is so dim that it is practically unreadable and you must be viewing it at a very precise angle to see it at all. By no means can you just glance at it as you are walking by.

If I could give this zero stars, I would.

1.0 out of 5 stars Inaccurate and hard to see, October 14, 2009

Upon installing I had to reposition the indoor unit on the wall because you can't see the information on the display if you view it from below eye level, that is, at an angle from the bottom of the display. Now that it has turned cold, the external unit is registering about 9 degrees above the actual temperature and above the indoor unit when they are placed side by side. There is a warranty but it is hardly worth the trouble and expense to return to Taylor for the money involved. I am going to toss it and order a Lacrosse which has been reliable in our summer home.

1.0 out of 5 stars Did Not Work -- Returned for Credit, March 28, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I would have awarded this product "zero stars" if the system would have let me.

This wireless thermometer did not reliably receive the signal from the remote sensor. I tried resetting it several times, and positioned the receiver and transmitter about five feet apart for two days to "sync" with each other. Lithium batteries did not help.

I returned the unit for credit within a week.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless junk, September 30, 2010
This review is from: Taylor 1526 Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer With Hygrometer & Atomic Clock (Kitchen)
I received this unit directly from Taylor as a replacement for a unit that was defective. When I received this unit, it was defective as well! Neither unit could pick up a signal from its remote probe, which is the whole point of this product. Even had it worked, be aware that the display photograph you see -- a high contrast black on blue screen -- is misleading. The actual product has an old-fashioned, gray LCD screen that is difficult to read, even under optimum lighting conditions. I have three words for Taylor products: avoid, avoid, avoid!

I purchased this product and within a month found that I could not read the receiving unit display. I changed the batteries and that had no improvement. This is not worth anything. Also looses connection to the outdoor transmitter. I like the outdoor transmitter and you can easily read that. So I ended up throwing the receiver away and buying a different system from the Weather Channel.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor model, September 3, 2011
This review is from: Taylor 1526 Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer With Hygrometer & Atomic Clock (Kitchen)
We had an older Taylor wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer that worked extemely well. It finally went out. We oredered this model. What a disappointment. The base unit is so dim,and you can not read it easily at all. Even changing batteries doesn't help. The remote unit seems easy to read, but is not easy to hang at all. Good luck to everyone. We are ready to get our money back.

Looks fine excet for a few basics. Would you believe that AA batteries would not fit into the receiver station? Who designed this trash?
