Inexpensive, simple, and easy to use,

This review is from: Taylor 5828 Dual Event Timer (Kitchen)
What more can you want in a kitchen timer? It has two countdown timers, each of which can be set up to 23 hours and 59 minutes. The display is a good size--not too big, but big enough that the display is easy to read. It has an angled bottom, so it sits nicely on the counter. It also has a magnet on the back if you want to attach it to the range hood or the refrigerator. It's easy to set--press 'Hr' to set hours or 'Min' to set the minutes. If you have to go to a high number, hold the button down and the timer quickly advances. It has a switch on the back where you can have it display the time and date when you're not using it as a timer. About the only niggle I find with it is that clearing the timer is unintuitive--you have to press 'Hr' and 'Min' simultaneously to reset the timer. Other than that I find it completely intuitive and easy to use. It takes a single AAA battery to run the timer, and it's easy to replace. I am really happy with this timer, and it was cheap! A really great purchase.

This is the second Taylor kitchen timer I've gotten and it will be the last. First, it's awkward to deal with the timer - there's a sliding switch on the back where you have to switch it to choose the mode. I could deal with that, but now I don't have to - it only worked for a week. After that, anytime you slid the switch to timer the alarm would go off and no amount of button pressing would stop it. Even taking the battery out and reinserting it wouldn't break the cycle.

Tiimer Blues,

Stopped working after 2 weeks. I used it in the kitchen only. Taylor will not get me again. However the display shows up very good from the bottom of my garbage bin.
