4.0 out of 5 stars Step up and be counted
I'm so afraid of heights that even standing on a deep-pile carpet gives me acrophobia, but this low-profile scale was just the thing to make my weight-measuring experience less traumatic.

I also found an additional advantage is that the scale underreads by at least 10%, which helps me to feel much better about the effects of my occasional chocolate and ice cream binges.

1.0 out of 5 stars Required too much light and wasn't accurate
The Taylor 8100 Solar-Powered Digital Bath Scale would only operate when under a 200 watt bulb! My bathroom is lit with 3 60 watt bulbs and they weren't bright enough to get the scale to operate. Also, three members of my family each weighed 40 pounds more on this scale than on our current scale! Our current scale is only 5 pounds different than the doctor's scale. I...

1.0 out of 5 stars This Scale Is Not Accurate, August 12, 2002

I bought this scale and it registered about 30 lbs less then the doctors scale. I took it back to the store and they replaced it with the same model. I again tried the scale and it was still 8 to 10 lbs less then my normal body weight. My wife and kids tried the scale and their weight was also 8 to 10 lbs less then their normal weight. My advice is to to by another brand!

I bought this scale post pregnancy to help track my weight loss. the claims of precision made it appealing as did the solar power and lifetime warranty. well, I have just sent mine back after months of frustrating use. I had all but given up on losing weight, turns out I was actually close to my goal before i gave up and gained 15 pounds (which the scale documented as 40. It didn't accurately track weightloss and even further botched weight gain. The lifetime warranty will replace it, but what's the point, the new one will undoubtedly be inaccurate too. Good luck.

This is a sleek and elegant accessory which graces the bathroom of casa Raddick. I can't vouch for how it functions as it only has a 300 lb capacity and it runs out of power as I tend to blot out the sunlight. It sure looks good though.
