4.0 out of 5 stars auto shutoff IS a problem, but...
I agree with the others who complain about the auto shutoff feature causing the scale to turn off much sooner than it should. So far it hasn't been a major issue for me as I tend to weigh one thing at a time. If that worked as it should I would rate this scale 5 stars.

I've used a Soehnle scale and a Salter scale. MY Soehnle scale (12+ years old) still...

2.0 out of 5 stars Mine didn't weight anything over 12 oz!
I puchased this scale from Bed Bath and Beyond in November. I thought it was odd that most items I would weight were never over 12 oz. One day I bought three pounds of ground sirloin at the grocery store and wanted to divide it into three 1-lb servings and kept adding meat and it stayed at 11.9 oz. I tried to tare over and over again and pushed down on the scale but never...

MY Soehnle scale (12+ years old) still works but the one button on/off/tare operation is a real pain. My Salter scale died after less than a year and I went to a big local chain store to buy a replacement. They had about 8 scales, various brands in stock. I tested each of them and with the exception of one scale (that weighed in 2g increments, not 1g like the rest) every one gave the same reading. This Biggest Loser scale was the cheapest and I liked the raised glass platform that allowed me to see the readout easily. I saw no reason to spend a lot more money on the other scales.

I plan on buying another to keep at work. I have to be careful about weighing food for accurate carb counts (Type 1 diabetes) and I trust this scale as much as those other expensive brands.

I love this scale...for many many months I have been cheating myself on
many foods, by not weighing them...
This is a wonderful kitchen item if you are dieting, in fact a must!
How do you know if you have put too many ounces on a Turkey sandwich?
This Biggest Loser scale will do all the calculations and it is a snap to use...I like the glass on top which can be cleaned so easily...
LOVE IT!

After using just about every commercial food scale there is....I am very impressed with the quality and dependability of this scale.
Precise and lightweight it can go everywhere with me.
The large readout is perfect for me!

I tried to tare over and over again and pushed down on the scale but never anything reading over 12.1 oz. I can't take it back to the store without a receipt or a box (silly me for throwing them away) and when I called Taylor today, they want me to return it on my dime to their company to replace it. It's not worth the money to ship it!!! I would suggest you take it out of the box in the store and test it before you buy it, it should be able to register up to 6.6 lbs! Buyer, beware! And in regards to the prior reviews about the glass top, it is removable for washing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, despite reality TV connection, January 4, 2010
This review is from: Taylor Biggest Loser 6.6 Pounds Kitchen Scale with Glass Platform (Kitchen)
I purchased this scale about 6 months ago at a kitchen store. The reason that I chose this over others was simply the weight capacity and lowest price. I wish it were easy to get rid of that stupid logo.
I have tested this over and over against a smaller scale and it has been right every time. The other scale weighs in increments of tenths of a gram, and TBL to whole grams. It correctly showed the right weight even when the weight changed only .1 grams bringing it up to the next whole gram. Excellent quality for the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Possessed, February 2, 2010
This review is from: Taylor Biggest Loser 6.6 Pounds Kitchen Scale with Glass Platform (Kitchen)
Yeah, so it's pretty and the glass top is great for cleaning, but I swear this scale is possessed. The electronic nature of this scale make is fairly unreliable and it often will not turn on properly and gives far too many error messages. You would be far better off with an analog scale.

2.0 out of 5 stars great except it doesn't work, March 15, 2010
This review is from: Taylor Biggest Loser 6.6 Pounds Kitchen Scale with Glass Platform (Kitchen)
It's the right size, has a glass top, can weigh in grams or ounces , can be zero'd at the push of a button with an empty bowl on top, is simple to use...great - except one problem...it doesn't work.
The buttons are junk and the primary button has failed after 3 months. It has a 1 year warranty so I'll see if I can get it replaced although I doubt I still have the receipt. It is cheap for a reason. I gave it 2 points for having the right feature set but that doesn't matter if the product fails. Don't waste your $ on this scale. Get a better one.

4.0 out of 5 stars We love it...but don't wash it!, November 12, 2009

This is a great food scale, but we made the mistake of running it under the faucet to clean it. Alas! It has never run properly again. When we buy it again, we'll be sure to clean it with only a wet paper towel!

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk, March 27, 2009

This review is from: Taylor Biggest Loser 6.6 Pounds Kitchen Scale with Glass Platform (Kitchen)
Bought this scale. Was happy about size & liked the glass top for cleaning. Supposed to have a 2 minute auto off function... problem is, it is a 20 second auto off function. Which means, if you put something on the scale & maybe you want to add a little more, you better add it quick... otherwise, to get a weight, you have to dump everything off and turn scale back on and then try again. At 2 minutes (as advertised) this would be great, but 20 seconds doesn't work. Thought it was just maybe the scale I bought so I exchanged it for another one. Same 20 second turn off. I will be returning for a refund & try another brand.
