This thermometer keeps track of the temperature inside a freezer, refrigerator, or deli case from minus 40 to 60 degrees F. Its 3-1/2-inch face is magnified so it can be read easily, and the face shows safe zones for food temperatures in green. A shatterproof plastic lens protects the glass temperature tube, which is filled with a nontoxic liquid. The thermometer can stand on a flat surface or be hung from a rack. --Fred Brack

Easy to read.

I get a very clear view of the variance in temperature from area to area in the fridge and freezer and which foods are really cold or just chilled.
E. Klaus
A quick glance and you can tell if your refrigerator or freezer temperature is correct or out of whack.

I bought three of these. One for my refrigerator, one for the freezer and one for my big freezer that is outside. The thermometers work fine. They are very hard to put in. The included suction cups are hard to mount and they don't stick. If you get them to stick, they won't stay long. The metal hooks on the back work much better, but they still don't fit well. They would probably work fine hooked on a regular refrigerator rack. Mine has a piece over the front that prevents me from hanging it there. My only option is to use the door area, but I had to force it on, bending the metal brackets out a bit.

I purchased 4. I have 2 refrigerator/freezers and one standup freezer. I rotate one between the two freezers in the garage. They all measure almost identically, so I feel they are good quality. Update 6-11-2012, these are still working perfectly. I highly recommend them.

I was looking for a fridge/freezer thermometer that made it easy to tell when the temperature was in the correct range. This is it! A quick glance and you can tell if your refrigerator or freezer temperature is correct or out of whack. Inexpensive insurance for all the food in your refrigerator.

Nothing to get excited about. They serve the purpose of monitoring the temperatures in our back-up refrigerator / freezer. My only complaint is that they have to be viewed at an extremely exact angle to get a reading.

I bought 2 of these for my deep freezer, plus a rotary thermometer from a different manufacturer to ensure accuracy. All thermometers match when in the same area of the freezer. I did not have the problem others have reported with bubbles, and needing to shake the thermometer down. I also don't have any particular problem reading it, at least compared to other thermometers of this type. It does what I needed it to do, and it didn't break the pocketbook. Overall, this was a good purchase.

I'll mention that the thermometer I received is slightly different from the picture. The numbers on mine only go down to -20 degrees. This is fine for most people, as home deep freezers rarely get below -8 or so.

I bought 4 of these, one each for the fridge and freezer for the two refrigerators we have.

We found out the fridge in the garage was just over the "safe" zone and we needed to make it colder. We had been having a problem with leftovers not keeping in the garage and we think this might have been why. Things were much better after getting the temps down.

The house fridge, freezer and the garage freezer were all fine, but now we KNOW they're fine.

There are several ways to attach these thermometers, from sitting on shelves to clipping on doors to handing on wire shelves.

The thermometer I received looked different than the one pictured, however it was fine with me since it also added a Celsius scale. I adhered two small circular magnets (BYKES 10 Neodymium magnets) to the back of the metal clips with some 3M extreme double sided mounting tape, and put it at the back and top on inside of our new standup freezer. Works great, and won't get in way of our stored food and unlikely to move since the magnets are so strong.

Seems to do the job. I don't have anything to test their accuracy (bought 3) but based on the other reviewers that could compare them, they should be fairly accurate. After loosing a freezer and not even realizing it (the freezer was cold, just not cold enough and I didn't know until stuff was half thawed when I pulled it out), I decided grabbing these would be good so I can keep an eye on the temp for the new freezer, fridge, and box freezer over the fridge.
