Taylor 4323 Lithium Scale,
By
This review is from: Taylor 7323 Lithium Scale, Large Display (Health and Beauty)
Finally found a scales that will weigh me consistently and accurately. Room for large feet. I've tried a dozen different scales, including those recommended as "most accurate" but none of them remained consistent and most wandered all over the place. I'm heavy and overweight, and this scales will help me control my weight.

Scale is reeally a lite weight (very easy to lift and carry). Once you get on the scale it takes mere seconds for it to display your weight to a tenth of a pound. Its large LCD numbers are easy to read without wearing glasses (which might add a tenth of a pound to your total). It is very accurate and very easy to use (once your total weght appears on the display it stays even if you sneeze). All in all I think it was a great purchse and I am glad I bought it, if you do, you will also be satisfied.

After starting a healthy diet program I decided I was ready to replace my old bathroom scale. I purchased this digital scale after reading other reviews and checking out all the competition. My old scale only weighed in pounds while all the newer versions weigh in tenths. And as another reviewer stated, every tenth is important! I am very pleased with the scale. The digits are easily readable and the scale surface is quite large. I had to replace the lithium battery after three weigh-ins but that isn't a big deal. I would not hesitate to recommend this scale to anyone. If you are ready to purchase a scale for the first time or just replace the one you have I think you will be very pleased with this Taylor 7323 Lithium digital scale. You'll find more expensive scales out there but why spend the extra money when this one is perfect in every way.

Best scale I ever owned!,

I can't say enough good things about this scale. It is reasonably priced, light weight, very easy to use, and looks nice. It is very accurate, right down to the tenth of a pound. For the first time in my life I look forward to getting on the scale. Sometimes it is only down a tenth of a pound, but all progress is encouraging! Thanks for a really great product.

Very easy to use - just put in on a hard surface and it'll give you consistent readings accurate to .2 pounds. You'll know if you've been good or need to work a little harder.

So far I am very pleased with this scale. I've owned it for about two months and I can say that it gives consistent readings even down to the tenth of a pound, and I love the large display.
It certainly is a far cry from the cheap spring scales that people have been weighing themselves on for the past hundred years or so. Obviously some have had problems with it. Perhaps there are quality control issues and an unusual number of problem units are getting out to the public. I've had nothing but satisfaction from my scale, but I'll update this review if anything changes. If you buy one of these it might be a good idea to use it several times right out of the box to see if you got a "lemon".

The product arrived quickly. The battery was included, just needed to pull the tab that prevented battery drain during storage and shipping. Love the automatic zeroing, greatly improves accuracy. Also, it settles to a solid weight within seconds, I can lean right or left and the weight doen't change once it locks on.

Not very accurate!,

I weigh myself everyday and I wanted a scale that would be more accurate than the cheap $6 scale I picked up from Walmart. Unfortunately this scale doesn't seem to be that much different from the $6 Walmart scale. First, it is not very sensitive and does not register small changes in weight (although I bought this scale because the manufacturer said it was accurate to 0.2lbs). I tried getting on with various weights and it would not register these small differences. I would say that this scale reads approximately plus/minus one pound of your actual weight. If you keep that in mind and are not annoyed by the one pound room for error, you may be happy with this scale. On the plus side, this scale looks very nice with the large digital readout and it is also very light. I will keep it but I am dissapointed that it couldn't have given more accurate readings.

Weird behavior explained,
This review is from: Taylor 7323 Lithium Scale, Large Display (Health and Beauty)
I don't own the item but can explain the weirdness various reviewers have noted. Scales can't really measure "weight", just the force that is applied to them. This makes an accurate .1 lb measurement difficult because people move around in small ways constantly without thinking about it and each move changes the amount of force on the scale. In the moment when one foot is on the scale and is being used to push against the scale to lift the other foot onto the scale the force on the scale is more than the persons actual weight since you are pushing against the scale to lift the other foot. Similar fluctuations take place when you shift your feet, or even shift your weight from side to side, or lift an arm up or put it back down. In order to give an accurate measurement the scale probably either takes an average over a brief period of time or takes the first unchanging value it gets and then freezes at that value so that every little movement afterward doesn't change its reading. If a large enough deviation from this frozen value is sensed, it restarts its measurement. By the way, not that I recommend one, but on an analog scale one can see these fluctuations showing up even at the pound level if the movement is large enough. Much smaller movements will affect a tenth of a pound reading. I give a 5 because the scale appears to be being docked for this weirdness, but it is probably not a real problem with the scale. Possibly there are scales that provide a "running average" so that if you pick up something while on the scale, then after a second the additional weight registers in the new average, but I really don't know.
