This cream is simply perfect. Its consistency is softer than that of other creams, so it lathers up quickly on either a brush or when used without a brush. 5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect (for me), October 3, 2010

This cream is simply perfect. Its consistency is softer than that of other creams, so it lathers up quickly on either a brush or when used without a brush. It contains a fair amount of glycerin so it seals moisture in, with the effect that your beard stays wet and your face stays hydrated. The fact that the cream is soft (others, for example "concentrated" creams or soaps, are harder) makes it easy to spread on your face in a way that keeps air larger air bubbles out of the foam (large air bubbles are what dry your face ... some canned foams are this way).

The cream shines when it is used for frequent shaves (every morning or twice a day), where the hairs are still small and prone to get irritated by shaving. Irritation does not occur when this cream is used but in my case occurs pretty much in every other case. The razor glides on your face. I usually use the cream left on my brush after I shave to lather up may face one more time after I am done shaving and I discovered that the cream helps healing as well.

Some seem to be bothered by the smell, which is grantedly old time. This old time smell is pleasant to me, but it also is unassuming and is completely non-persistent, so it is not a factor of importance. There is no colorant.

This is the best cream I have used, regardless of price, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best!, May 2, 2010

I've been using this cream for about 2 years now. Every time I run out, I think, "maybe I'll try a different kind" but I always end up buying the Eton College cream. It lasts forever, smells great (maybe a little what some would call "old fashioned") and makes for a really great shave.

If you're thinking about buying it, do it. You won't regret it. An interesting note- I recently traveled to Central America with this in my bag and after a few days in the tropical heat, the scent changed a little! All of the citrus smells came out and left the colder fragrances I'm used to more in the background. Neat : ]

Taylor shaving creams are all really good (at least the 3 I've tried). Way better than stuff in a grocery store. This one is my favorite because the Eton College scent is so wonderful. In fact I liked it so much I bought the cologne, which I now wear almost daily.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rich, creamy, with a soft lingering freshness.., December 2, 2006

As with all Taylor creams, this is a rich, luxurious cream that glistens in the light. It can be applied directly to the face with the hands and rubbed in, or you can use a badger brush to develop a thick foamy lather.

Don't be afraid to use this with your 20-blade super-extra-mach-ultra razor, as you *will* notice a difference in shave quality. Of course, this cream truly shines when used with a very sharp double-edge safety razor.

The scent is very mild, and develops complexity as it's whipped into a lather. The best way to describe it is a light, cool fragrance that reminds one of a relaxed English morning sitting on the veranda sipping tea and reading the Times.

My husband has been using this cream for a few years now in combination with a Vulfix brush. He finds this cream to be the best lubricating for his sensitive skin. He's tried GEO. F. Trumper as well, but didn't get the same lubricating feel. This scent is old school and I like it a lot; it never goes out of style.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eton College is top notch, October 25, 2011
This review is from: Taylor of Old Bond Street Eton College Shaving Cream Jar [Health and Beauty]
Ordered the Eton College and Sandalwood scents. Absolutely will be buying the Eton College scent again. Lightly scented and lathers great! The BEST shave I've ever had. Waiting on my DE razor to arrive and I'm sure I will then be able to say now that's the best shave ever. I would highly recommend the TOBS Eton College scent.

I received this cream today and used it with my new Parker 22R Butterfly De Safety razor. I put just a dab in between my new Shea Ultimate Shave Brush and the rest was history. The smell was very nice, and the shave was really great using this cream. I will buy more of TOOBS to try out new fragrances they have to offer. This cream gets a 5 star rating because it is a true winner in my book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shaving Cream!, November 21, 2009

All of Taylor's cream perform well (I've tried 9), so I like to choose them based on scent, and Eton College is my favorite.

It has a typical cologne sort of smell, but other scents come to mind like soap, citrus, lavender and an almost powdery sort of smell as well. It's really fresh and light.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Cream, September 26, 2011
This review is from: Taylor of Old Bond Street Eton College Shaving Cream Jar [Health and Beauty]
This cream is very smooth, smells amazing, and a little goes a long way. Very little is needed to get a smooth/thick lather going. The smell is a citrus/wood type smell which is fragrant and doesn't go away 5 minutes later. Great product! Highly recommended.

Pleasantly suprised with this shave cream. Just a tiny bit produces a good deal of lather. I happen to like the scent. Prevously I was a Proraso fan. For me, the Eton College Shave Cream gives me a closer shave and does not dry out my face. Sometimes I do not need to use my moisurizing aftershave.
